Great place to stay!
The first thing my son said when he walked out the front door was, “Great view!” From that moment, it never failed to impress.
We’ve stayed in many cabins by Lake Almanor and this one is by far the most comfortable. It has plenty of beds, spacious bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, very clean and cozy common spaces, and the entire cabin is nicely decorated.
Before our trip, our conversations with the owner, Lisa White, made us feel like they truly wanted us to enjoy their cabin and that it wasn’t just a transaction.
We took hikes on Mt. Lassen (a 50 minute drive away) which has wonderfully strange sulfur springs, gorgeous waterfalls, lovely meadows and awesome vistas. There is so much to do around there besides the lake but make no mistake, the lake is terrific!
Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
We had such a wonderful time! Thank you, Lisa and Jodie! We arrived on the same day the previous guests left and the house was super clean. The kitchen is awesome and has all the amenities. The bed in the master bedroom is super comfortable!!! We also loved the large shower in the master bath. The deck is huge and has great views of the lake, the perfect spot to hang out. There's a large umbrella that provides ample shade during the day, and there's natural shade from trees in the morning and evening.
The semi-private beach is down the street and down some stairs. It's a small rock beach, no sand, no shade during the day. It's nice to go for a dip in the lake or to watch the sunset in the evening. If you want a sand beach experience, you can go to one of the public beaches and picnic areas nearby. They're all free of charge and not crowded at all.
Overall, we totally loved the area. It's beautiful and there are no crowds. People are chill and friendly. It's the perfect place to get away from it all, especially if you love nature. We brought our kayaks and had a fantastic experience. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, and various water fowl. We also highly recommend visiting Lassen Volcanic Nation Park. We'll definitely be back.
Thank you for the great review, and we are so glad you got to see the eagles! We looked into your comments about the beach, and learned that the lake is unseasonably high this year due to the ongoing construction at the Oroville Dam. Lake Almanor and the Feather River, which normally flow downstream into Lake Oroville, have not been allowed to do so this year as they are controlling the water levels at Lake Oroville. Apparently this has caused higher than usual water levels in Lake Almanor, and several others are affected by unusually high water on their shorelines as well. We are sorry that you did not get to see our beach at its finest, as we do normally have the large sandy beach pictured on our website. Hopefully you will try us again next year and the water levels will be back to normal. I will, however, make sure to point this out to renters this year as we just learned of it through your post.
Wow! Such a great view of the lake!
We couldn’t be happier with the cabin. The place easily accommodated our group ranging in age from 2 to 72. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with.
Every thing was as lovely as the pictures showed. Loved relaxing on the deck after a long day fishing and playing on the lake. The kitchen was my favorite and I`m am cooking person, it was very well stocked. I even found a loaf pan so we made banana bread. Yum. On the funny side I have a bad Knee so I had to think hard as to how I was going to get on the high bed, well guess what, I found a step stool in the laundry room and problem solved. Thank you for sharing your home, we had lots of room so we all had our own space. Also you were very helpful when I had a question, always came up with the answer. Thanks again Pam
Beautiful and fun location at a great house
The deck is huge and overlooking beautiful lake almanor. With a built in speaker system and lots of seating, it will give you a place to gather with family and friends. Lots of beds in this house, and cute decor. The walk to the beach is short, and we enjoyed that it was never crowded. Recently remodeled house was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the special touches like the walkie talkies for staying in touch with those at the beach.
Nice home, great deck views
Stayed during the weekend we participated in a local charity run. Close to many locations, lovely home with helpful owners. Would stay again.
