This one-bedroom suite is a 200 square foot, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom (sink, toilet, tub/shower) suite. It has one queen-size bed, and large picture windows facing the orchard and vineyard beyond. The Vaughn Room at Hartley Farms is named for Gay (Vaughn) Riley, Barbara's maternal grandmother. Gay was a quiet feminist, most times too timid to try things on her own. She supported her children and grandchildren in starting their businesses (OtterBox, Danielson Designs, and Hartley Farms, to name a few). It is connected to a shared living space with the Walker-Hughes Room. (Listing #891247). They can be booked together (Listing #1081778). This shared space includes a small kitchenette (sink, refrigerator, microwave), living room with fireplace, and outdoor patio with a fireplace. Satellite Wifi, and TV (in living room). Complimentary Hartley Farms' jams with toast in the mornings.

Quiet and peaceful
We had a lovely stay at the farm, it was a beautiful property and lots of space, very clean, and cozy. Highly recommend!
Barbara & Dan's Family are truly welcoming. They have put a lot of work and thought into all the details of their very cozy rental. Very comfortable and spacious.
Clean, organized, simple, comfy
This is a quality place to stay. Everything was well communicated and organized for our stay while the owners were out of town, and the room and shared space was very clean, comfy, and high quality. The room itself is a bit bare and could use a bench or chair for setting things on and putting on shoes, but it was still very nice without that. I'm guessing this is a relatively new vrbo so I'm sure over time these aspects will be developed more. All in all our stay was a nice country experience and close enough to exploring all the major sites like Hearst Castle, Morro Rock/beach, SLO, elephant seals, etc.
Thanks Claire! We are pretty new, so thank you for the notes on things to add. We will work on it! It was a pleasure having you.
Comfortable, welcoming, and lovely - X2
We rented this master suite for our adult children and stayed in the adjoining room (Property ID 891247). We were all in San Miguel for a wedding and it was so great to have personal space and places to be together. The bedrooms and baths were deluxe, clean, and comfortable. The common area was just what we needed - not a full kitchen but enough for us to have coffee, wine and snacks. Perfect. We also enjoyed the outdoor covered seating area. Our hosts were perfectly friendly, helpful, and provided us with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thanks Barbara and Dan.
Smack dab in the middle of the vineyards with gorgeous views. 2 fireplaces and goats
Great wine! Great people! and goats. What else could a couple ask for on a spring weekend getaway? How about beautiful accommodations and organic jam on an English muffin every morning. That's what we received at Hartley Farms.
Barbara and Dan are gracious hosts who went out of their way to please us. We arrived late at night on the Friday due to brake failure in Van Nuys but they were there to greet us when we arrived and led us up the little hill of a driveway to our room.
Our room was spacious with a vast view of the vineyards around us. The furnishings were lovely. There are 2 fireplaces, one inside one outside with comfortable couches in front of each. There is a shared Living/Kitchen area. There is no stove or burners but there is a microwave, a small refrigerator, a toaster, a Keurig coffee maker and a sink. We shared this area with the couple in the only other room.
All this and there are goats and two lovely children to play with. My wife played with the goats, I played with the kids. The owners are just down the hill and delivered fresh bread and their own homemade organic jams early each morning.
Of course, we were smack dab in the middle of 100's of wineries, so it sure is the location, location, location to be. If you like wine.
We do and it was ZinFest weekend so we had a blast. On our last night, Barb and joined us for some wine and a little whiskey tasting and they showed us around the property (they do weddings, too!). We slept like babies. The next day we were off with a hug and a promise to return.
Thank you so much for a lovely weekend.
We are ready to come back.
Quiet and Peaceful - Farm life
Hartley Farms is close enough to downtown Paso Robles for dinner and a night out, but far enough to enjoy the peacefulness of this beautiful ag country. There are several wineries close by, and lots to do. Kid-friendly (the hosts have a 7 & 5 year old), with a water park right down the street. A hiking trail surrounds the property. The 2-acre garden is a wonderful place to picnic with your bottle of wine. And the heart-shaped pond is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. The farm makes organic jam, available to taste on a variety of breads in the morning. Pet the friendly goats, and chickens! Truly, a little slice of heaven!
