About Nancy Young
I have been working on properties for about 18 years and this one is the best and most special place I will probably ever have to pleasure to spend time in. I love to travel and have two English Bulldogs who are now keeping me close to home. In addition to home renovations I am an IT systems engineer.
Nancy Young purchased this House in 2014
Why Nancy Young chose Jonestown
Why this property? Because there is no place in the city that comes close to the eclectic space and the loftiness and vast expanse of this buiding. This property was listed recently on Airbnb and has had many nice reviews. Groups of 12 do not feel remotely crowded in this building. The building itself has a enclosed wall around it with a courtyard with fish and lily pond, off street parking for 3 cars and a gas grill. The glass tower which is the 4th floor has a great panoramic view of the city and beautiful sunsets against the Baltimore skyline to the west. It is in close proximity to the Convention Center, Little Italy, Harbor East, Inner Harbor and Fells Point. None are more than a mile away, cheap Uber and Lyft from there to all of above neighborhoods.
What makes this House unique
The unique benefits of this property is that there are large common areas (2,000 sq ft living room/dining room) and plenty of interesting angles to view this architectural masterpiece. While the place contains 9 beds, there is a lot of openness to the floor plan so a lot of privacy for more than a couple of the rooms is not a reasonable expectation.

Really cool place! Had a great time. Open floor plan worked great for us. Great location for downtown activities. Would stay here again!
Excellent house for big groups
Huge place with plenty of space for big groups. Liked the unique aspects of the house as well. View from top level is pretty amazing at night. Only drawbacks are the area is on the edge of where the good/bad meet in Baltimore (though in total fairness it's super close to great restaurants and other retail in Harbor East and Inner Harbor). Would stay here again without hesitation. Hosted 12 people for a weekend golf trip and had plenty of room. Owner makes it easy to check in and out and house had all the supplies needed for a comfortable stay.
Really Cool Place
Awesome old building. I would love to have a place like this to call my own.
Amazing unique property! Close to everything!
Very unique place to stay in Baltimore. We had 9 guys and space was perfect size. The layout is very open, great for entertaining or just hanging out. Rooftop is amazing and has great views. Nancy was super responsive and very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay!!
Strange space with logistical issues but helpful owner
There were good and bad aspects to our stay at this property.
- We ran into issues with the garage door not working, and while the owner worked to try and fix this, we had to go a day with only one key (for 10+ people) to secure the property. The surrounding neighborhood is not great, so it was important to make sure things were secure.
- As the house is a modified loft, most of the beds are only separated by curtains. They seem to be shoved in random locations (like a trundle in the living room). While it says it can fit a lot of people, it would be better with fewer.
- Whenever the air conditioning fan turned on, it let out a very loud, startling squeal that woke people up
- The owner was helpful throughout the time we were there, trying to fix the issues that we had. She made more keys and got someone to look at the garage door multiple times. It was just unfortunate that we had to request these fixes, when you pay up to $1000+ a night, you expect it to run more smoothly.
Adam and friends were friendly and were patient through the one time ever issue with the garage door opener, which consumed my weekend of their stay. But someone in the party had a dog with them against house rules that caused us many cleaning headaches to prepare for the next guest due to dog hair in carpets. Nobody has ever described the phenomenal bldg as strange, and its no secret that the floorplan is open and only a few bedrooms have privacy w doors and walls. The last two guests in Adam's group didnt think checkout time applied to them and remained on premise until I arrived at the property and said they were waiting to be kicked out. That is not a reasonable assumption for an STR guest to make that they dont need to leave until someone else enters and tells them to leave.
Beautiful, well-kept, unforgettable house
We had a reunion of 10 friends staying in this home and we had an incredible time. People will be talking about this house for years to come. It's so unique, so clean, and so we'll-furnished. Nancy is a responsive and kind renter. I couldn't recommend more!
