Old, outdated property.....
My professional working career has been in the hotel/hospitality industry(43 years) and have also owned a vacation rental property in Mazatlan, Mexico so I feel I am making a fair assessment of our stay at your property.
First and foremost, On the VRBO description, the "Ranch at Roaring forks" sounds great."Beautiful Private 2 bed, 2 bath condo on 300 + acre ranch" "Great condition. "Enjoy the spacious patio/yard".
OK, so upon our arrival, there is trash across from our "ranch' condo piled up to the top. Entering the condo, there was old, outdated furniture on the "patio". Duct tape held the outside kitchen windows together and the front door window had no storm window on it(yes, I was warned that it was broken). Once inside, I went to the TV to catch the end of one of the football bowl games.I was greeted with 4 remotes and no directions at all on which one worked for what. I called the owner and I didn't know that one of the 4 remotes didn't turn on the cable box which I didn't know was part of the start up process(no directions?) Not knowing how Comcast works, there was no channel guide for guys like me so I had to google Comcast channels. If I was from out of state and didn't know Comcast I would really be in trouble.
Finally figured out the TV and, after travelling all day, I decided to make a few drinks.
OOPS, no ice!One ice tray was full. Out to "somewhere" to get ice. Ok, maybe some local notes by the VRBO owner to let their guests who are spending A LOT of money on their property to let them know local spots, 7-elevens etc. Found the local "7-eleven" to get ice.
Furniture/ lighting in the living room was old and outdated. If you weren't sitting right under the light, there is no reading etc. for anyone else there. Furniture needs a major upgrade( if i was renting a property for 75-100/night, this would be my expectation, regardless of the location). I asked the owner about the firewood that we were able to use for the fireplace. His answer to me was" I believe it is communal". Doesn't he know? Wanted to take a shower after a long day. The shower head in MB was so old it sprayed water all over the place. A cheap, plastic shower curtain also was hanging in there. Went to use the sink and it was completely clogged and had to use the other bathroom for the rest of my stay.An overall terrible experience and description of property was very misleading.
Enjoyed My Stay
This property is very comfortable and well located to be able to take advantage of the surrounding area.
Lovely, quiet, and convenient!
I would definitely stay here again. I liked the location: close to everything up to Aspen and down to Glenwood Springs. The cathedral ceiling makes it seem spacious and that it’s a ground level, end condo makes it private and quiet. Lawrence responded very quickly to any questions we had! He was very kind to deal with and extremely fair. It’s surrounded by tall trees that keep it cool during the hot summer days. Lots of closets, with plenty of linens and towels. 2 master suites with comfy beds were great after a hard day of touring. Great experience!!
We really enjoyed the condo. The space was perfect for the 4 of us. The furnishings were great and it was very clean. Lawrence was great to deal with, very responsive to my requests. Will defiantly stay with them again. Thanks Lawrence for a great stay!
Away from the BIG city
Very comfortable condo which accommodated three people. All agreed that if we come to this area again, would book this condo.
Quiet, clean, convenient.
Very nice experience. Lawrence was very cordial and helpful, if we needed.
