About Tim or Dianne Quigley, owners; Don McElliott - Innkeeper
Dianne is a former chef & restaurant & bakery owner. Tim is now retired from corporate life. They have owned several businesses over the years including rare book & antique shops. This is a family run operation with son-in-law Don McElliott as the Innkeeper and daughters Colleen & Kate and grandchildren Mitch & Maddie on the payroll as seasonal help. Neighbors Shea and Sherrie round out the staff. They built the B&B in 2006 to include all the things they liked about B&B and small inns they had stayed in around the world.
Tim or Dianne Quigley, owners; Don McElliott - Innkeeper purchased this Lodge in 2006
Why Tim or Dianne Quigley, owners; Don McElliott - Innkeeper chose Dahlonega
We live next door in a home we bought in 1993 after moving here from Texas. The house was small and needed work, but the land had a lot of potential - a great place to have grandchildren come visit with a pond and terrific views. We bought the lot the lodge stands on a few years later and built on in in 2006. We wanted to maximize the mountain view and we did by perching the lodge as far up the slope of Long Mountain as our property line would allow. Over the years we have added many things we thought guests would enjoy like walking trails, Adirondack chairs at nice pond viewing locations, a horse shoe pit, etc.
What makes this Lodge unique
We believe it is "the little things" that guests cherish and remember, so we try to include as many of those as we can both inside and outside the lodge: great views, candy, homemade cookies, coffee and specialty loose leaf teas 24/7, great linens, etc.
