I Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Self-Contained Unit
About Deborah Sawyer
I've lived in Toronto for many years and have watched the city change tremendously in that time. I myself have traveled a great deal, having visited 30 countries, some more than once. Currently, I keep busy with running my rental properties and handling elder care duties for my remaining parent.
Deborah Sawyer purchased this Apartment in 2015
Why Deborah Sawyer chose Old Toronto
Great central location in a quiet neighbourhood with superb walkability plus access to transit. A great base for exploring Toronto. I chose this property when I decided to downsize out of my four-storey townhouse which was also in the neighbourhood.
What makes this Apartment unique
The building has been here since 1910 and now has a Toronto Heritage Century Home plaque. At one time, a business known as Adanac Stores - a general store - operated in the corner unit. Later - and for many, many years - it was Mena's Beauty Salon, run by the former owner of this building. Now, the corner store is home to Gallerie Dry Cleaner and Alterations, while the second store is operated as Mi Hermano Barber Shop. What I've found since moving is here is how surprisingly quiet the building is, especially at night, But, maybe, that's due to the 16 inch thick walls!

Great central location with easy access to transit (subway and buses) that will connect you quickly just about anywhere. A 5 minute bus ride north of the hip Ossington strip and a short stroll to the Dufferin bus which will whisk you to the up-and-coming Dundas West area (known as DuWest) with all its new restaurants. A short taxi ride from the Toronto City Island airport and approx. 20-30 minutes from Pearson Airport (as long as you avoid the main highways). This is a great spot for anyone who prefers to base themselves in a low-rise, family-oriented neighborhood.
