Perfect child friendly lake house
Stayed for 1 week in July with family and loved it. Great outdoor space for everyone including toddlers, plenty of room inside too. Very well equipped and the owner was great - very helpful, informative and responsive.
Jodi and her family were excellent, considerate guests. They were able to enjoy the best of the Finger Lakes: the Lake, wineries, restaurants, waterfalls and gorges.
My family stayed here in late September and it was the perfect place for us! The house was fully equipped with everything we needed (campfire materials, row boat, paddle boat, canoe, and lifejackets). The location was ideal because it allowed us to do a day trips down to Watkins Glen and Ithaca. If you want to stay local there are plenty of wineries to check out as well. The owner was very nice and explained everything about the house to us when we arrived, which came in handy when we needed to find things. If you are looking for a place to relax where all you need to do is show up and the little things are taken care of for you, then this is the place! My family and I would definitely stay here again! We were 100% satisfied!
An ideal family, respectful of our home, tidy, considerate. Highly recommended.
Great family Lakehouse
We stayed at Peter'shouse for a 4 day weekend with 2 families and children. The house was perfect for our stay. The kids had a great time on the paddle boat and fishing of the dock and so did the adults. It was so relaxing and beautiful sitting on the dock watching the sunset. The house was large enough to accomodate 10 of us comfortably and had everything we may have needed. The house was located right on the wine trail you could walk to 2 of them. We all had a wonderful stay and would come back again.
Thank you for your remarks.
The home is ideal for up to 10 and well situated to explore all the Finger
Lakes have to offer: swimming, boating, fishing, wine trail, cheese trail,
National Parks (Women’s Rights in Seneca Falls), State Parks (Taughannock
Falls, Watkins Glen and others).
We are glad that your family was able to experience our Lake and home.
Peter is a great host. There are several vineyards and a brewery within 2-3 miles. Definitely worth considering renting again.
We're pleased that you and your party of 10 had a "perfect stay".
We are ideally located to explore all the Finger Lakes has to offer.
We'd look forward to hosting you again.
Spacious, clean lakefront home with great views!
My brother and I rented the property for our annual fall fishing trip and had a great time. Fishing was great on the lake, we limited out every day. We stayed in the home for 1 week, wish we could have stayed longer. The owners, Peter and Pat, were very friendly and accommodating. They even left us a bottle of wine from a local vineyard, which was very nice!
The home was very clean, and well-maintained. We appreciated the fact that the home had a garage, which was where we kept my boat for the week. The home also included a washer/dryer, which came in handy as well. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals, the living room was comfortable and spacious. The bedrooms were quite large as well. The views of the lake from the house were magnificent!
I would highly recommend this home, and plan to rent it again next time I visit Cayuga Lake.
We are pleased that you enjoyed our spacious and comfortable Cayuga Lake Home. That you caught your limit of fish every day was a terrific bonus! And we thank you for sharing some of that bounty!
We now have a functioning fireplace
(propane insert) to comfort guests
on cool evenings.
Looking forward to your return
visit in the future.
Peter and Pat
Great vacation - so relaxing at the lake. Had fun exploring the Finger Lakes area.
Peter & Pat greeted us with a bottle of wine, stacks of brochures so we could explore the area, and marked up a map to show us where to shop for groceries, etc.
Peter wanted us to have an “over the top” experience. He lent me the book, Summer in a Glass by Evan Dawson - all about coming of age of wine-making in the Finger Lakes. What a treat it was to read that book and then visit the local wineries.
Sitting down at the dock, looking out at the beautiful sky and clouds, feeling the breeze of the wind, soaking in the sunshine, and listening to the ever changing waves pounding against the rocks is probably the best thing about living here - but we made time to tour local wineries and more…
Going to the Seneca Produce (Amish) Auction was a hoot. Huge cartons of produce are auctioned off so fast I found myself translating in my head long after the final bid was accepted.
We went twice to the Fox Run Winery for a tour; wine tasting; a Celtic Concert; and the Garlic Festival.
We had a delightful tapas lunch and wine tastings at the Toro Run Winery.
We had dinner at The Thirsty Owl (the salmon dish with honey, coconut, and fennel is yummy!)
We went to the Cayuga Lake Creamery more than once. My favorite flavor is “purple cow” (blackberry with chocolate chips).
We had dinner at the StoneCat Cafe - great meal and view to match. Our son & his wife returned there for lunch two days later.
The Hosmer Winery was celebrating their 30th anniversary featuring music by the Tribal Revival band. We loved their music and stayed through two sets as we tasted wines.
We had dinner at the Knapp Winery, just minutes away from the lake house. We had the place to ourselves since we arrived shortly after a very short storm and before the last seating at 5pm.
Food shopping is rarely fun going to Sauders might change your mind. They have jars of every specialty item - try the pickled baby beets.
We had sunny weather every day so we spent a few hours each day cooling off in the lake, taking out the canoe or paddle boat. It was great fun just watching our grandkids splash and swim. We enjoyed grilling steaks and eating local corn on the cob, which made our lake house feel like home.
And we did have an “over the top” vacation here.
I must mention we experienced unusually hot and humid weather during our 2nd week - so we all wished there was air conditioning. I understand the owners intend to do some renovations - including adding air conditioning.
Our Cayuga Lake Home is ideal for touring the Finger Lakes as evidenced by our most gracious first guests and their review!
Wineries, Creamery, Breweries, Distilleries, Cheese tastings, Historical venues, all within easy reach of this comfortable lake home.
For some, the lake may provide all the entertainment you desire.
Canoe, paddle boat and rowboat are available. Fishing can be outstanding. Swimming and floating on a tube with drink in hand is hard to beat on a hot summer's day.
We now have central Air Conditioning as of Sept. 1, 2016
