Great Provencal Property

  • 5 of 5

A charming country house great for relaxing in or exploring the markets and villages of Provence. The house has all the space and amenities you would need and is large enough to get some privacy if you want it. Would highlight recommend for a bunch of friends or families with kids as their is much to explore.

Tres Jolie Maison (very nice house in French)

  • 4 of 5

This house really is a hidden gem. Literally and figuratively.

Don't be put off by the owner's slow response times. This provencal mas is really worth it.

Big rooms, nice gardens, home-like rustic feel all made for a great stay.

One thing I particularly liked was the "mamelon walk" to get bread and croissants in the mornings. Ok so the bakery is not right next door but I loved my little walk and a quick coffee in the cafe on the way back.

Highly recomended - unless of course you like contemporary architecture!

We loved our stay at the sprawling Provencal home

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a home away from home and Le Mas des Gardies really fit the bill. In a quiet hidden valley just outside the village of Menerbes this house offered all we wanted.

We were not looking for a fancy, specially decorated for rental property, rather a real home with character, authenticity and a refreshing original sense of luxury.

The gardens, cherry, almond and olive trees surround the house. One one side you have the valley and on the other acres of woodland that lead up to some outstanding views. Plenty of rooms for the kids to run around.

Each room has character. Traditional wood beams, tiles and lovely furnishings.

The fun dormitory has it's own shower space and the other three bedroom share a bathroom/WC and shower/WC. Our party got up at all sorts of funny times so this was hardly a problem.

We also used the grange which gave us even more living space, two bedrooms and another shower room.

Communications with the owner were a little sporadic (we suspect he is not that email savy) but the house was well worth the wait.

You know how sometimes photos are better than reality. Well in this case the opposite was true.

We hope too book again for our family stay this year.
