3 bedroom home in Jackson, NH, sleeps 6

About Susan Smith, Jeff Smith
A job opportunity brought us to the Mount Washington Valley in 2007. Sue grew up just north of Pinkham Notch, in Gorham/Shelburne, so this was like "coming home" for her. A new opportunity has come our way, so we have moved to Naples, ME. Not wanting to sell our lovely home in Jackson, we thought we would rent it and share it with you, our guests. Maybe someday we will come back in retirement. It's a wonderful home, in a great location and area. And, so for a few years we will be spending some time in the Sebago Lakes region, with a cottage on Brandy Pond.

Why Susan Smith, Jeff Smith chose Jackson
Because it is in such a great location, in the heart of the Mt. Washington Valley! We are sure you will love it here! People vacation in the Valley, and want to move here!
What makes this House unique
We've always found it to be a great house for entertaining! Two living rooms, two dining rooms, and two "en suite" master bedrooms. It is quiet, spacious, with much to see. Views, and wildlife! You might be lucky enough to see a bear walk through the yard, we also have deer that live out back, many turkeys, just to name a few!

Welcome to our home! Your home away from home. We want you to make yourselves at home, and will leave a detailed booklet for your arrival, but would ask that you treat our home, and our possessions as you would treat your own. Thank you for your consideration. There are two fireplaces, but they cannot be used. The hot tub is here for your enjoyment and use, and there are separate "hot tub" towels available in the entryway, by the atrium door. Please don't use the bath towels for hot tub use. The kitchen is also available for your use. There are some supplies in the pantry closet, feel free to use, but just let me know if you use it up, by leaving the empty container to let me know. If you run out of something, again, just leave me a note of the item. We will leave soap, shampoo & conditioner in each bathroom for your use, and towels. We have 2 "en suite" bedrooms with queen beds. The third bedroom has a double bed, and a twin bed, with no bath. You could sleep a couple comfortably in the double bed, or accommodate 2 children, 12 & up. We have cable TV, and will leave instructions on using the TV's and accessing the cable. Just a note to add here, about potential renters. IF you are a group of lets say, college age kids, that are looking for a fun "party house" for a weekend, this is not the place for you. This is our home, with our private things. This home is filled with antiques and collectibles, and needs to be treated with respect, and care. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Beautiful farmhouse home with great view and everything nearby
We stayed here for four days with our adult son and daughter, just after Christmas. We had a great time. The place is very spacious, with good firm beds, just the way we like it. It's a home, so there are photos and personal effects around (lots of antiques and old clocks; just be prepared that it doesn't feel like a hotel). The owners were extremely generous and responsive. I'd forgotten to pack my tea stash and felt welcome to dip into their collection. I'm sure it would have been fine to use other staples if we'd needed it. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped: loads of high quality pots and pans, fancy gas stove, large fridge. There's a small but packed grocery store (Grant's Shop & Save) in Glen not far away.
We downhill skied at Wildcat one day. It's very nearby. It was wonderful to come back to the hot tub. We cross country skied right across the street another day. The weather was sleet and rain one day so we ended up hunkering down and not leaving except for a short snowshoe jaunt in the yard. We played Scrabble, read books, cooked and watched DVD's from their small but excellent collection.
My husband said it was one of the best vacations we've ever had as a family. I'd recommend this place to anyone. If the owners could just control the weather conditions....
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are very proud of our home, and how comfortable it is, and really appreciate when people notice! Hope you will consider staying with us again!

I would live there if I could!
Great view of the mountains . Beautiful home, exceptionally clean. Bed was so comfortable we slept like babies. Plenty of things to do close by. Also, great restaurants . We felt very much at home, very cozy, just my style. Would highly recommend .
Beautiful well equipped home located next to the cross country ski trails. Great outdoor hot tub
Friendly, helpful owners
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed your stay, and we hope you will stay with us again!
We were looking for a place to stay near the Eagle Mountain House to attend a family wedding for the weekend. This was the perfect combination of having our own quiet space and being able to walk over to join in festivities! The house was beautifully updated to be a mix of rustic and modern.
Thank you Gloria, for you review! We really appreciate it, and hope that all was fine. Please consider us again if you come to the Jackson area again!
Beautiful house, great location!
We had a great time at Carter Notch...the house was beautiful, comfortable, and perfect for the four of us that stayed there. Would certainly recommend to others and looking forward to staying here again next time we're in the area.
Thank you! We really appreciate feedback. Being such "newbies" to renting our home, we want to make sure we provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment for your stay! Please come again!
Very homey, great location
My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. The location was beautiful, great for 'leaf peeping' and exploring the area. Very private and secluded but with "downtown" Jackson very close by. We walked to restaurants both nights. Only thing that could have made it better is if we were allowed to use the fireplace.
Thank you very much, James, for the wonderful review. Very much appreciate it. I worried about the overall "comfort" of the house. We love our home, and want people to feel right at home. And you being our first guests from VRBO, with some experience with it, I wanted to make sure that we were making you feel welcome in our home. That's what we want. And, we were just talking about the fireplace use, as we were there on Sunday and had a fire to take the chill off. We talked a bit about our reasoning of not knowing much if anything, about our guests, and thought that it could be considered for repeat guests in the future. So again, thank you, and we look forward to having you enjoy our home again!
Story land, just 5 minutes away, Santas Village is only 30 minutes away, outlet shopping in North Conway is only 10-15 minutes. Lots of golf, hiking, walking, lakes, mountains. Some of the best dining in the Mt. Washington Valley.
