About Patrick Brewster

Hi, I'm Scott, I look after La Bergerie for my old and dear friend Patrick who has had to move back to the UK. I've been in Bergerac for 13 years. I still feel like I'm on holiday, so feel free to ask any questions.

Why Patrick Brewster chose Queyssac

Very relaxing and peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in La Bergerie recently and had a wonderful stay. The location is stunning, very peaceful and quiet and also very accessible to Bergerac and the surrounding area. The house itself was extremely well-equipped with plenty of room for our family of 5 to spread out. Kids loved the pool, the deck was fantastic, beautiful setting for lunches and dinners! Scott was very helpful before and during our visit. Gorgeous area, loads to see and do if you want to venture out! We hope to return!

Very pretty, traditional stone house in a beautiful, peaceful spot.

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a week at La Bergerie with our three children (aged 12, 10 & 7) and we thought it was great. Whilst in a hamlet, there is a village nearby with what looked like a lovely restaurant. Sadly, we hadn't booked in advance and it was full, so I would suggest you call before you go if you want to try it (particularly in August). Bergerac itself is only 15 mins away.

The house is well equipped and the kitchen is particularly impressive. There is a fabulous balcony overlooking the pool: a great place to sit and do very little.

Scott, who manages the house, is very helpful and quick to respond on email and Florence (the housekeeper/cleaner) was able to pop in to help us find pool towels, and Sebastian came round to clean the pool and tidy the garden.

The only slight downside - for the kids more than us - was the wifi, which was slow and pretty much confined to the room where the router was. It didn't matter when the sun was shining as they were in the pool, but we had a couple of cooler days, when they were inside a bit more and wanting to use devices. For us, it was great to have an excuse to be offline!

I would definitely recommend a stay here. It was a very relaxing week.

Wonderful authentic French stone farmhouse with fabulous views

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful, spacious and very charming rustic French farmhouse with fabulous balcony views overlooking the valley below. Brand new family kitchen and lovely big swimming pool with gardens to stretch out on your sunloungers and enjoy the Dordogne sunshine. Highly recommended, especially for groups and families. Plus only 30 mins from the airport. Make sure you bring mosquito spray for the evenings having dinner on the balcony!! Fabulous.

Picturesque rural cottage in quiet a hamlet only 20 minutes from the centre of Bergerac.

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for our family holiday (children aged 8 and 6). We loved the quiet countryside location with views across the valley. The local village of Queyssac (about 5 min drive) was very quiet (and the restaurant closed for a holiday) but Bergerac and surrounding villages were only a short drive away.

The cottage was very spacious and clean and has been recent updated with a new, well-equipped kitchen and bunk beds in the third bedroom. The garden and pool were lovely and a great place for children to play with plenty of shade.

Scott and the other people who looked after the cottage were extremely friendly and helpful and were always able to give advice on local amenities and attractions.

We had some lovely days out including the chateau de Monbazillac, the chateau de Bridoire, le Moulin a Papier de la Rouzique and we did some canoeing from La Roque Gageac (very pretty with views of lots of cliff-top castles).

Thank you Scott and team for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Beautiful house with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

This is a gem! We spent a week with our 2 and 5 year old at this property. The recently renovated kitchen is huge and perfect for family dining. The house is very spacious with big airy bedrooms. A lot of the interior has been refreshed making this a really lovely home for a family on holiday. The pool is alarmed and has a shallow end for little ones. There is loads to do near by, there is a swimming lake, aqua park and amazing castles to explore: Marqueysaac is really good for kids on a hot day as you can explore the leafy mazes and play area. Scott was beyond helpful and gave us lots of advice about the local area. I highly recommend a stay at La Bergerie!

Gite Extraordinaire!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is excellent and comes highly recommended. The pool is amazing has a shallow end (with steps) and deep end that suits all ages. Grounds are great and spacious. Terrace has great views (bring binoculars) - we saw deer from there most nights. brand new kitchen well equipped. good lounge area too. First rate restaurant in Queyssac we went 3 times. (bistrot-presbytere-queyssac) - 5 min drive. walk if you don't have kids! excellent access to Bergerac Town and also the airport is very close 20 mins. huge hyper market only 10 mins and little shop in Lembras also useful. We have already rebooked for next year. The Gite is very much better than the photos show. we went with a 2.5 and a 5 year old
