Our Cabin sits on 7 acres and surrounded by forest. Where our cabin sits is right on top of a hill that over looks Roosevelt State Forest and in the back drop has a spectacular view of the Continental Divide. Our Cabin is just outside of Black Hawk and Central City, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Eldora Ski Resort, the city of Boulder and Denver. Our cabin was built in the 1960's but it has recently been completely remodeled with band new kitchen appliances as well as brand new deck. This cabin makes for an excellent mountain retreat any time of the year. To read some of our reviews from non VRBO customers please check out the "about the host" section! One note to add is that groups of 3 or less will have access to only the main level, which has a bathroom, hideaway bed and private bedroom.
I am a local Coloradian that wants to share my great space with people all around the world. I facilitate all the communication and accommodations with anyone interested in booking this cabin.
Zachary Disberger purchased this cabin in 2014
My father's mom's family built a cabin in the Black Hawk area in the 1930's. Treasuring his childhood memories there, he has wanted to buy a cabin in the same area, but with a better view. So when we ran across this property and its cabin that we could make into our own, we all fell in love with it.
This cabin is in a beautiful location, and with the recent renovations we have done, it is a very comfortable home to spend several days. We are frequently visited by hummingbirds in the warm weather months, and guests have reported seeing other wildlife, a mountain lion being the most exotic.
The cabin was awesome, very clean updated appliances. Upon arrival to cabin the cabin was already heated very clear instructions on obtaining the keys for entrance, lovely views all the way around the cabin property. Hated to have to leave earlier than planned family emergency but will return again and tell all my family and friends about Zach’s cabin love Black Hawk.
The cabin is simple wonderful. It is so quaint. We spent spent the evenings watching the gourgious sun sets. The cabin had everything we needed to occomodate our large group. The host was super responsive as well and answered all our questions. I will stay again.
The cabin was quaintly decorated, absolutely beautiful view from the deck. We did run into a few things. The coffee pot was broken, and instead of buying a new 1, like a few dollars, they just left a note saying sorry it was broken. So no coffee. As the evening progressed, it became very cold, we tried to turn up the heat. It was only 65 degrees, the thermostat wouldn't change the temp and just kept reverting. I tried to contact the onwer, but hours later all he said was to use the thermostat. We ended up having to use the lower bedroom, since it was warm in there. Also, we wanted to use the WiFi, so we can do wifi calling and check on our daughter. No wifi info anywhere, onwer replies the next day that we would need to pay for wifi. What place charges for wifi? Everywhere else I stayed it has been included. The real problem is that a few hours after we left, still our vacation, I get a message from the owner questioning me about how many beds we used. I explained the issue with the heat, he says it was silly of us to use so many beds for only 2 people. He even asked for extra money since his people had to clean the lower bedroom, claiming I only had access to the upstairs. I paid for the cabin, never once being told that I could only use half of it. The price is the same per night if I have 2 people or 6 in my party. And I paid the cleaning fee as part of my renting. Despicable, and under handed. I will not be renting from this person again.
Amazing views! It was a great opportunity for adventure. Lots of great hiking and sight seeing nearby!
A beautiful cabin for a honeymoon; the view is unbelievable, and the hummingbirds charming. Off the beaten track, but easy access to Nederland, a quaint little town with great food, coffee, and bike rentals. Rocky Mountain and Estes only a beautiful hour away. Will return.
Overall it was a great experience for us and we enjoyed the stay. Beautiful view of the snow capped mountains, clean rooms, well stocked kitchen and well furnished rooms. A 4 wheel drive might be the best during rainy or snowy days, but my mini van worked well in June. Overall I would say it was a perfect mountain getaway! Loved it.
The cabin is fairly remote, but the metro area is about 40 minutes away, and many ski areas and mountain towns are within an hour drive.
