19th Century Log Cabin with Modern Conveniences

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 3-5)

This is a traditional log cabin with modern amenities. It is tucked away among the mountains at an elevation of 2370 feet with breezes whispering among the hardwoods. The situation provides a feeling of great seclusion, yet you are only a quarter mile from a lake (visible in winter) and are only three miles from the quaint village of Saluda, North Carolina, with quaint shops, restaurants, and old-time general stores. It is as if you stepped more than a century back in time.

You are a mere ten miles from the Flat Rock Playhouse (live theater) and the Carl Sandberg home. The largest private home in America, the fabulous Biltmore House, is a mere half hour away on your side of Asheville. All the other possible mountain activities are nearby except downhill skiing, and even it is not very distant. Or, if you merely want to rest and rusticate, simply curl up with a good book on the screened front porch or the open and leafy back deck of the cabin and forget the outside world. There is an air conditioner, but it is seldom needed.

Charming, Rustic and Peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is nestled on a mountainside inside a community built around the small private lake. Although it feels a million miles away from it all, you are really just a short drive from the bustling Main Street of Saluda, where you will find lots of shops , restaurants, gem mines and outfitters. You are also within a days drive of most of the major mountain attractions of Biltmore, Chimmney Rock, Cherokee, and numerous lakes, rivers, trails and state parks. The cabin is simple, with modern amenities and clean. My favorite place was the comfy chairs on the screened front porch under a tin roof listening to the rain and sounds of nature all around me. Thank You to the hosts for such a lovely stay.

Quiet cabin

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was the perfect size for us. Master loft with a small bedroom plus a pull out sofa. Kitchen was very usable. So cute in the woods. Loved the history of being in a 19th century cabin with cute nooks & character.

Cute little cabin!

  • 4 of 5

Quaint little cabin! Had a little of everything needed! It would have been nice to have window air unit in living room. Hard to sleep when it's hot! We enjoyed the lake and the convenience to town!!

little cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely quite little cabin. It was perfect for a short vacation. Working with the owner was easy and his response were quick upon asking. The town is small not a lot to do or out to eat was limited but the area was so pretty and well kept up. Perfect get away for 2.

Pleasant little cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful relaxing long weekend at this cabin in the mountains. We enjoyed walking around the lake and fishing. Our dogs enjoyed the many walks we had every day. It was a nice stay to get away from the every day of work.
