About Carrie Frifeldt

I grew up in Grand Haven 4 blocks from Terra Cotta Pearl, moved to Florida and Chicago then came home to Grand Haven to start my business Chadko, LLC in 2000. I purchased the house in 2007 and started renovating, each year it got better and better, a great improvement for the neighborhood. People walking and driving by compliment me every day. I love my house and want to share it for the Summers so more people can enjoy it. I will be living with my mother a short distance away and I can walk to my shop from there. You will see in my house what we make at Chadko, enclosure kits and shelving liners for wire shelves.

Carrie Frifeldt purchased this house in 2007

Why Carrie Frifeldt chose Grand Haven

I purchased this house because I love being so close to the downtown area, I can walk to everything. Also I am an artist and the house was fun to make it what it is today, very comfortable and Feng shui

What makes this house unique

I love to live in the back yard, I have my tranquil privacy or can sit on the back table and people watch, have pit fires and enjoy the breeze, people watch.

We had an awesome stay with our little dog! The place was very clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. There were 3 AC units which kept the place nice and cool. We walked to a couple of parks nearby and spent time relaxing and grilling in the cute little backyard. Also, it was a quick walk to downtown where we ate out, tried many ice cream shops and saw the musical fountain. The beach was a short drive away and we had no issues parking there. Watch the sunset on the beach, it's gorgeous! We definitely would love to stay again next year!

WOW! From start to finish

  • 5 of 5

There is no single word to describe our experience, except maybe to quote Mary Poppins....Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious. Because this was seriously the best stay we have ever had.

Our family of 4 adults traveled with 2 dogs and we all enjoyed our time in Carrie's home. Her attention to detail is superb, from a fully appointed kitchen down to bathroom toiletries, from an ice maker in the kitchen to extra blankets to snuggle up on the couch. Not only did Carrie supply firewood and kindling for her fire pit, she actually had a fire ready to go for us in it!

The location is also perfectly suited. It is quiet yet still close enough to the waterfront & downtown that we could walk. She had games and even a special gift for our newly engaged son & his fiance. We cannot wait to stay again!

Great house with EVERYTHING included!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved this rental. Perfect for a family of four or even five would work. Clean, organized, and stocked better than any previous house we've rented with everything you need (kitchen stuff including coffe/creamer/oil/spices, nice toiletries, outdoor supplies for the beach and fire-pit, etc.) Location was good - even with relatively young kids we could bike most everywhere, which is important to us. Would stay here again if returning to Grand Haven without any hesitation.

A funky dive you won't regret

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful week in Grand Haven thanks to this great rental home. The house itself is definitely a little funky. You can spend hours of great conversation drinking wine on the patio debating how the house was built, which parts are original and what it's history must have been. Regardless, the place was impecably clean and amazingly well apportioned with everything you could possibly need... a great kitchen, tvs in the family room, bathroom and kitchen, a nice little fenced in yard, parking, wireless internet, ice, towels, linens, washer and dryer, etc, etc... other than food and drink, you don't need to be running around town looking for anything except fun. If you do need something, the house is very conveniently located and within easy walking distance to most everything GH has to offer. Baring that, Carrie is absolutely great to deal with. I highly recommend this property.

Owner's Response: Thanks Ken! I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. The original house was the dinning room and entryway built in 1860. Grand Haven was a logging town back then and all the workers lived in Old Town in small houses, then it was built on from there. The old licence plates above French doors were found when the siding was installed, they were covering old holes in walls. I hope that you visit again! Carrie

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Carrie was amazing from start to finish! The house was beautiful and looked like it had all been remodeled. Every detail from the furnishings to the little "extras" was well thought out with guests comfort in mind. The location was perfect to downtown and the beach. The yard was amazing and made you not want to even leave the property at all! Would 100% recommend and I would definitely come back!!

We can just support the other positiv reviews about the house. Everything is already said.

The location, the property, the cleanness, the stockings were great, and of course the owner too.
