I've given this property one star for location and one for the outside space. I've never had to complain about a property we've stayed in before and we've visited the region many times. This place is huge, with wonderful views and could be really special but it is absolutely not as described. It refers to the entire property having just been fully refurbished but this is absolutely not the case. Not only was it poorly cleaned (there was an old pair of pants in one room!) but the kitchen and bathrooms were extremely shabby. All of the toilet seats were broken, two of the showers were hand held ones, showering with one hand is not fun. So much of this place was broken or had gone wrong. We had to have two fridge freezers in the kitchen because one had broken and they couldn't get it fixed on a Saturday!? There were extension cables trailing all over the extremely limited work surface. The electric gate had broken so we had to bungee it closed. The door to the annex wouldn't lock so the people staying there had to bring their valuables up to the main house when we went out. The pool alarm kept going off during the night and so had to be deactivated. The pool fill system had broken so we had to have a trip hazard pipe going across the patio to the one corner of the pool, again because they didn't want to get it fixed during high season. The kitchen equipment was all so old and tired, handles falling off cutlery etc. When we spoke to them about this and the inaccuracies in their description, we were told that this is what you get with Provençal charm but that is so not true. We didn't want all singing, all dancing high tech but we did want clean and working. We keep returning to the region because it's what we love, don't tell me that Provencal charm means you have to shower in the bath with one hand or that you nearly fall off the seat when you use the toilet. Don't tell me that it is using a sink right next to a trailing extension plug. Don't tell me that it's spending half an hour rummaging through a mountain of ancient, broken cutlery to try and find enough decent stuff for a family dinner. I have experienced Provencal charm in abundance over the years and this is not it. I could go in but I'm running out of characters, I only wish there was space on these reviews to put on more accurate photos than those advertised. There is a reason that the only bathroom shown in the pictures is the more modern one in the annex!
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and go through details that were important to you. We care very much that our guests enjoy their stay and the property. We have a team in place that is there to make sure it is clean and everything is functioning. If anything does break or is not working during a guest's stay, we try to fix it immediately, which is what happened when we brought an extra refrigerator the same day that the original one stopped working. We understand that holidays are short periods of usually 1 or 2 weeks and things need to be in working order or fixed as quickly as possible. Thank you again for letting us know how you felt and please know that we are always trying to upgrade and ensure that guests enjoy their holiday. Kind regards,
Exceptional villa for a family holiday
Villa Paradis lives fully up to its name with its lush garden and the most beautiful view of forest and mountains. It is very cosy with the pool area well connected with the sitting areas in front of the house. All areas are plentifully furnished with comfortable deck chairs, and the dining table is big enough for 12 people.
Since 2006 we have rented villas for 12 people in France and Italy. Most of them were good, but we all agree that this is the best. We all thrived in this environment where we spent 14 days and felt at home from the very first day.
The service was good: when the refrigerator broke down and the pool alarm started in the middle of the night, Lise Carey immediately took action and had it fixed.
Another asset is that the Villa is close to many attractive villages and towns as well as amusements for children.
So thank you Villa Paradis for a wonderful holiday.

Excellent Villa !
We have had an excellent time, the views from the property were breathtaking - what
a way to start the day, looking at the mountains in the distance - marvellous. Plenty of sun lounges, a lovely large table for the whole family to sit around in the evening, wonderful - thank you !
...great and authentic Cote d´Azur Villa which leaves no wishes open,......
We enjoyed a lot our stay in this wonderful Villa in the South of France. Apart from the very chic decoration and the houses huge garden, the kids loved the pool a lot and we ll were delighted by the full Equipment the Villa has (NESPRESSO machine, CAMPINGAZ Grill,.....). Needless to say that Lis and her wonderful husband are a pleasure to be around and they were helping us with everything concerning the villa and so much local info and advice (what so see, where to go,....) so that they could write a Lonely Planet about the Region themselves. We are looking Forward to come back in 2019 !
We spent an incredible family holiday last summer
We had a large family gathering, coming from the UK and the US, and this was our first holiday all together in the Cote d'Azur. The property was better than we expected. Lots of space for our many different family units, inside and in the garden. Lots of lounge furniture and outdoor table and chairs. We spent most of our time outdoors in the shaded area and by the pool! The view of the mountains and the relaxing environment was amazing. We could even walk to a boulangerie and cafe in the mornings - perfect. And we loved Valbonne village, so picturesque. Planning on coming back.
