Why Colleen or Elejio chose Cayo
Location, location, location . . . this 15-acre Belize property is located in the western Cayo District, in a remote, rainforest location, off the electric grid but does have public utility water supply, with over 600 feet of river frontage. The house is eco-friendly, being powered by a combination of solar panels and a backup diesel generator for rainydays. As an added benefit, the property shares a boundary with their daughter’s eco-resort . . . and easy access to their “jungle boy” grandson. Lots of birds and vegetation.
What makes this House unique
The main guest living area is on the second floor of this beautiful and substantial metal roofed, concrete home in the tree canopy, with excellent view of toucans, parrots and a wide variety of tropical birds, plus an overview of the Macal River (with swimming beach) at the bottom of the hill. Numerous tropical plants and fruit-bearing trees (bananas, pineapples, oranges, limes, mango, and avocados) are easy to sample when in season. Frequent sightings of a number of jungle wildlife species are waiting for guests from the wrap-around veranda. The house includes a beautiful, well-appointed kitchen with gas range/stove and microwave that supply meals for eating on the all-weather covered veranda while viewing the river, birds and wildlife. This main living level includes a large, open plan family room with large screen TV and DVD system, bright powder room, and a large master bedroom suite with spacious private bath. The ground level of the home has two private bedrooms with ceiling fans that open onto a large screened patio with ceiling fan, and relaxing, tropical hammocks. Additionally, this level has its own private, full bath, and entrance door. All windows/doors have curtains for added privacy.Access to both the floors is secured by an external security door for added peaceof mind. The house is surrounded by a half-acre manicured yard with a 6-foot high flower-covered cyclone fence to keep their two dogs in and the wildlife out at night. While visiting Shamrock Bluff House, guests will also have access to the amenities of neighboring Table Rock Jungle Lodge, including their 4-star restaurant and lounge, canoes, river float tubes, gravel swim beach, donkeys, orange groves, hiking trails, and guided tours.
