Property type chateau / country house
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Chateau / Country House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Beautiful home made of western cedar and native pine. Home is brand new with all log bed room furniture, big screen TV,and a big kitchen. Our house sits close to the river (constant sound of river is very soothing). Our home is the perfect spot for outdoor activities. Go hiking right from property, on the over two million acre Gunnison National Forest. Trout fishing on the Taylor River is the best Colorado has to offer.

Three miles down Canyon to a Dude Ranch for a horseback ride, rock climbing, or guided raft or kayak trips. Nine miles up the canyon to the beautiful Taylor Dam, and lake, with breathtaking view of the Continental Divide, and the Collegate Peaks. You may want to take a jeep tour of the back country, or just sit out on our large deck, and watch the deer, or other wildlife that are often in the woods around the house.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Rick, Julia, Rebekah, and Matt,

We have enjoyed our time here. It is so beautiful and we've seen alot of wildlife! The deer was under the side deck and scared andrea when it ran! The weather has been beautiful and we really enjoyed the thunderstorm! The Thunder was awesome rumbling through the canyon. Thank You So Much! God Bless!

Great Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was awesome and in a great location to go to either end of the river road. It was fully stocked and super clean. We put the humming bird feeder out and enjoyed watching them flock to the feeder. We will definitely be back!! We celebrated Father's Day and our 22nd wedding anniversary during our time❤️

Great Location/Beautiful Surroundings/Lots to Do

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is situated in beautiful Taylor Canyon and in a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature or take advantage of all the outdoor things there are to do; hiking, rock climbing, water rafting, fishing, horseback riding. A nice place to make day trips to Taylor Reservoir, Tin Cup, Crested Butte, and Gunnison. There are enough activities around here to please all ages.

We really enjoyed the well appointed kitchen with a view. We took advantage of the nice grill on the upper deck. We also enjoyed having cups of coffee out there. We appreciated the fact that the main living area and kitchen are on the second floor so you have a nice view with a full wall of windows.

We hope to come back and experience it in the winter. The house is very comfortable and clean.

We would recommend and will stay here again. We especially enjoyed how responsive and easy to work with the owners are.

Wonderful vacation cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was wonderful. It was very nicely furnished, totally comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay! We had parking space for two trucks, and a trailer for our utv's. There were some great restaurants close, good access to Taylor Park, Almont, Gunnison, and Crested Butte. I definitely recommend this for your vacation. The only fault I found, was that it was a bit complicated to figure out the tv controls, but that's a very small problem. Hope to stay again soon.
