About Susie Graham

Steve and Susie moved from Northern Virginia to raise four boys in a rural setting. They have lived and loved this home-totally remodeled to accommodate their large family and many pets. Now as empty nesters, new endeavors free up the family compound to allow others to experience the incredible seasons and opportunities of the Eastern Shore Life.

Susie Graham purchased this house in 2000

Why Susie Graham chose Eastern Shore

FourSail was used as a primary home for 17-years-lived in and loved by a family that enjoyed all aspects of Bay living. The home is large and open-designed for family gatherings around the kitchen, living room, porch & pool area. It is outfitted with small boats, fishing gear, fire pit, and much more that make this property a perfect family retreat. 5-minutes by car from St. Michael's-a bike & ferry ride to Oxford, or just stay put & enjoy FourSail.

What makes this house unique

Quiet dead-end street, surrounded by water, guest cottage-close to everything but far enough from the crowds-a unique property for the family retreat.

Great views, clean lovely house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our long weekend at this beautiful home. Great water views. Pet friendly. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Top of the line kitchen appliances. Really nice decor. Superb wifi. Lots of room for relaxing, including a terrific screened-in porch. Best of all: Susie is a very gracious host!

Home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

Four Sail is by far one of the best vacation homes we had the pleasure of staying in! everything far exceeded our wildest expectations.

There is a natural warmth and coziness in the home. The gourmet kitchen was SPECTACULAR. If you love to cook, you will find literally everything you need to prepare any meal. The dinning room was perfect for our family meals, the bedrooms were extremely comfortable and we loved the screened in porch and the yard. We could have stayed there for a month!

This home is perfectly situated to be close to St. Michael's, Oxford and Easton, but there is no need to every leave Four Sail. There is so much to do right on the property between the heated swimming pool, kayaks, fishing gear, a huge yard for lawn games and sitting by the fire in the evening.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to stay at Four Sail and look forward to returning next year - if not sooner.

Chesapeake Elegance

  • 5 of 5

This beautifully decorated, fully-equipped estate is the perfect place for a family gathering. It has everything you could ever want in a vacation site and can be reached by both land and sea.

Located between St. Michaels and Easton on the Maryland Eastern Shore it sits on a private site amongst other fabulous waterfront estates with civilization still conveniently close.

Class all the way!

Beautiful and expansive property, perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful week here with our family. We loved the area: Oxford, St. Michael's, Easton, and Tilghman Island all provided great opportunities for excursions. We loved the property: the fire pit, pool, and lawn offered all kids of opportunities for our family to enjoy together. And, we loved the house. It was well-appointed and has a great kitchen and screened-in porch, which are the two rooms where we probably spent the most time. Susan, the host, was very responsive and a great guide to the house and region.

Lovely location but disappointments with the house

  • 3 of 5

The quiet location is great, in the middle of farmlands with easy access to grocery shopping and Easton. The large backyard with shade was a nice place for kids to play and a very nice pool was enjoyed by all. Chairs by the dock were nice for watching beautiful sunsets. The house is large with a good flow so each family member and their family had their own space. The large screened-in porch was great for the kids to color but we couldn't eat outside due to the many good sized holes in the screens. Also there were no shades to block the afternoon and early evening sun so the table wasn't usable during those times. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. We were the first week-long rental of the season and it wasn't cleaned recently. There were flies in the kitchen which took a couple of days to eliminate. The pots and pans were unusable in our view with chipped Teflon and much wear and tear. We used the grill on the Viking range, loved the Sub-zero refrigerator and used the Miele electric oven since there were no instructions on using the oven (strong odor of gas when turned on). The air conditioning on the second floor failed on the second day which was particularly difficult for us since we had very young children who needed naps and we had hot weather (mostly 90's) all week. The owner's surrogate was quick to get someone to the house to fix it. Two repairman did the best they could but the unit was very old. We opted to make do instead of interrupting our stay with another repair. The only bathtub had chipped porcelain. There were no instructions left except the name of who to call with problems and the Wi-Fi password (Wi-Fi only worked well in the kitchen which was an inconvenience as some needed to work ). We have rented 4 houses and this is the only one where there was no notebook explaining how to use appliances, emergency numbers, nuances of the house, etc. The apartment size Swedish washer and dryer had numbers for cycles and after an email with the owner we were able to get the correct cycle. The pool was dirty when we arrived and no one came to clean it but we knew how to clean and deal with the skimmer and heater. Susie, the owner was out of the country and was responsive via email and listened to our issues. She explained she usually welcomes the guests and explains everything in person but obviously that didn't work for us. Overall, an expensive but disappointing rental.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this feedback. I appreciate any and all, even the negative. I do apologize that the AC became an issue. But these things happen and I appreciate the fact that our local repair men and women were available at 8 o'clock on a Sunday night. It's very nice to be a part of a small community that can react that quickly. We did need to have that compressor replaced on a unit that was only 6 years old. The screens have been fixed and pots & pans are being replaced. I do need to take issue with the cleanliness part. The wonderful cleaning lady that I have used for 16 years spent eight hours in the house and I got her supplemental help hiring two additional people each spending 4 hours. That would be a total of 16 hours of cleaning to the house in preparation of your stay. My home should not have been dirty. The heated pool is serviced 2 times a week and should never appear dirty because it has an automatic pool vacuum that runs hours each day. Again, I apologize that you didn't have the same experience as EVERY other guest has to date but thank you for the feedback, it will help in the future and I have already addressed each of these issues. Future guests, please take into account the fact that the guest that stayed the very next week after this guest has already requested the same week next year. You can read their review.
