About Marcia Gummerson
My husband and I met in highschool in our hometown in the mid-west where we have resided all of our lives. I am a retired special ed. teacher and my husband is a retired plumbing estimator. We have two adult children, two delightful grandchildren and twins on the way! We serve as foster parents for Healing the Children and are active in animal rescue.
Marcia Gummerson purchased this House in 2005
Why Marcia Gummerson chose Tulum
We bought the property many years before building the villa. The area was just beginning to be developed and it provided a wealth of natural treasures such as the second largest coral reef in the world and the amazing Manatee cenote. It is the snokelers or divers paradise. Tankah is also very close to so many attractions such as the Tulum ruins, Coba, Xel Ha and many others.

Amazing. Best VRBO experience ever!
Beautiful home that is equipped with everything you need for a great vacation. Waynar and Rosa were incredible hosts and clearly have pride in caring for the home and guests. Rosa’s cooking is unbelievable. Even comes with lab, Bonita, who I went with us on our daily walks. Thanks for a memorable visit to Tulum!!
This property was everything we wanted for our vacation. We had 3 couples and two little babes (one toddler, one infant) with us. Every one of us found the space perfect. From amazing ocean-front access (plus perfectly raked sand daily, SUP, and kayak), to amazing home-cooked meals by Rosa, to a wonderful house that was the perfect home-base we couldn't feel more lucky. Rosa and Wayner made the vacation even better with their warm, friendly and gracious presence - helped us with any question we had and also had wonderful suggestions for our exploration. We loved being near Playa Tulum without being in the heart of it. We liked having Casa Cenote right next door. And we enjoyed the house pups, too! We hope to travel back here again in the future!
Elegant & Relaxing
Let's start with the best part. Waynar and Rosa, the onsite caretakers were the best ever! We trip to Mexico 4 to 5 times a year and they kept every aspect of the home perfectly. We had Rosa prepare 6 different meals for 2 couples and even had their wonderful family join us a couple of times. Some of the best gourmet meals we have ever experienced for a small charge. Every day Waynar cleaned the beach, raking the sand and cleaning the pool and grounds. Now for the house. It's even better than the pics. Huge 4 bedrooms with large personal bathrooms. Beds were comfy, easy to cool with individual aircon, though we rarely needed it. Kitchen was well equipped with a massive supply of utensils. Star gazing off the roof at night was fun. The pool was a perfect temp for cooling off and there is kayaks, life jackets and a plethora of water toys. Fresh bottled water is provided. Insects were minimal, but it is jungle so bring some Off. The Casa Cenote is literally across the street for crystal clear swimming or scuba diving the underground passage to the ocean. I recommend renting a car from Easyway. For a fun adventure, Xenotes tour was a blast! Groceries and shopping at Tulum is a 10 minute car ride. Bring water shoes, as soon as you're in the ocean it gets rocky...the only negative of the trip, but we were aware beforehand. 3 dogs there loved us, and they were very protective of us and the property. Nice big safe. Hope to return some day.
Perfect! It lived up to every expectation!
I have rented numerous Villas throughout Mexico, and this was the best property - and best value - I've ever found. 4 married couples had all the privacy they could ever want, with 4 public areas to converse in, a private bathroom for each bedroom, our own slice of beach, and the BEST behaved dogs I've ever been around. They actually sat and guarded us whenever we were outside, completely silent, requiring no attention from us at all. They made the place feel even more homey than expected. Walking up the beach with Bonita as she wagged her tail was the highlight of every day.
Wayner and Rosa kept the place spotless throughout the week, and her cooking was delicious. The Cenote down the street was beautiful, although a little busier than I thought it might be. But the added car traffic did not bother us a bit.
The home felt huge to us! It is so beautifully built, with gorgeous tile work throughout. We never even used the balcony deck or the beautiful rooftop. There was always purified water in pitchers in each bedroom in addition to the 10 gallon dispenser in the kitchen. All cooking utensils were quality.
All in all, it was a 10. I HIGHLY recommend it this property!
Beautiful, clean, friendly, relaxing
A group of nine ladies stayed a week in this beautiful home and had a fantastic time. The house and property is very well maintained by Wayner and Rosa. Three very friendly and sweet dogs (Bonita, Ziggy and Flora) stay at the property too. Notes: snorkel gear can be rent at the cenote across the street. We rented vans so we could go to Solomon Bay (Chimicos restaurant), Coba ruins, Akumal (swim with turtles) and beach road in tulum. No parking available on beach road so you may want to take a cab (Wayner can help with that). We ate at Ana y Jose and it was delicious. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
Couldn't have been better!
What a great place. Beautiful house. Kind and helpful caretakers. Lovely views. Perfect location right on the beach with a restaurant next door. We were four adult couples, but this house would also be great for families. I plan to return with my kids.
