About Lorna and Mark
Hi. We are a family of 3, living in Bolton, Lancashire. We have been renting our holiday home in the French Alps for 2 years (HomeAway.co.uk #8337555) and have recently renovated this 1850 property for family holidays closer to home.
Lorna and Mark purchased this House in 2016
Why Lorna and Mark chose Sedbergh
Full of character but with all 'creature comforts'. High quality restoration, using traditional materials (stone walls , natural slate flooring, stripped original floorboards oak cottage doors, cast iron fittings). Stunning location in the heart of the conservation area, surrounded by all amenities but only a short walk into some of England's finest countryside. Easy access to the area by road or train/taxi An ideal location to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake DIstrict.
What makes this House unique

The cottage was brilliant, located within the centre of the town. Car parking is as described only 30m from the cottage (pay and display £10.00 for 7 days).
The property was refurbished to a very high standard with all the amenities that you would need. The owners have left a book showing the refurbishment which was very interesting.
The area was so good that we decided to explore the local area rather than going to the the lakes.
We would recommend this property to anyone. And will hopefully return at some point.
We are delighted that you enjoyed the property and Sedbergh as much as we do. We hope to welcome you back in the future.

Lovely cottage in a central location
This cottage has everything and more for a very peaceful relaxing stay in the centre of Sedbergh.
The cottage felt very homely, cozy and clean from the minute we walked through the door when we arrived.
Location of the cottage is very quiet and hardly any passing traffic.
It’s close to all amenities including local restaurants serving up excellent homemade food, a very friendly pub, shops and cafes.
Communication with the owner was very efficient, answering all my questions and queries in a very quick timescale.
The car park to park your car is literally across the road from the cottage and is very safe, it costs only £10 to park for the full week which is great value.
We will definitely return for a stay and have highly recommended the cottage to family and friends for a stay.
Lovely Cottage, Great Location, Wonderful Scenery
What a gem in Sedbergh. The cottage has been restored to a very high standard and was perfect for my stay. Two bedrooms comfortably sleeping 4 people, and ample room to relax in the living area and kitchen diner area. All mod cons throughout and this has been restored in a very thoughtful way. The property is clearly well maintained and on arrival everything was as we expected from our discussions and contact with the owner. The owner was prompt in responding to questions I had before my stay and I liked this good customer service. The location of this cottage is perfect as it is right in the middle of Sedbergh and the local shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants are literally on your door step. There is no need to worry about parking either - there is a very reasonably priced public car park close by. I would definitely recommend a stay here .
Hi Paul and thanks for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in the future.

A fantastic area for walking, hiking and cycling (road and mountain bike). Within the small town centre there are book shops, craft shops and local services. Local attractions include
Farfield Mill (craft centre and cafe) and further afield are the Wensleydale cheese factory and restaurant, Kendal Brewery Arts Centre and the Hawkshead Brewery with cafe and bar.
