This is a very pretty one bedroom home with a king size bed (additional queen inflatable bed upon request). The home features a modern kitchen, and attractive indoor living room but the best feature is the 400 sq ft screened in porch that overlooks the tranquil and lovely Braden River. There are 2 large flat screen TVs with wifi connection. There is a full laundry in the garage. The house was built in 2013 as a guest house for our main home (next door). We are on 2.5 acres and the property has panoramic views of nothing but nature. It is surrounded by gardens and magnificent southern oak trees dripping with Spanish moss making a very romantic setting. We have NOT been affected by the algae blooms, the river is clear and our fish are fine!

About Mary Ann MacCartney
We have been expats for the last 30 years and chose Bradenton because of the tranquility and long family connections. We love how close we are to the bustling world yet how far away it feels. After 10 years in Asia we have incorporated many aspects of the orient in our gardens and home.
Why Mary Ann MacCartney chose Bradenton
The Fish Camp was designed as a guest house for us to live in while our main house was being built. Our architect ensured the home is not only comfortable but also takes full advantage of its riverine setting. Our property is 2.5 acres with a large pond at the entrance and the Braden River in the back.
What makes this House unique
Peace, tranquility and oh those birds!
This is the most quiet place I have ever stayed with the most beautiful view of a river on a large patio nicely decorated with lots of nice furniture. The owner also had the place stocked with not only plenty of dishes yet things like spices some even organic, candles, flashlights, and so much more. They had games, a kayak, and bikes I could of used yet I was gone for a convention most of the time, yet really enjoyed sitting in a rocking chair in peace and quiet with beautiful view in morning and seeing the sunset over the river at night. I had my friends from convention come over who really enjoyed the space as well as I had to share. The only down side was a bit musty inside, but I opened the windows that helped some.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.
We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Everything that we could possibly need was provided. Our hosts, Mary Ann and Steve were friendly and accommodating. I spent every morning, with my coffee, sitting on the fantastic screened in porch watching nature come alive. And then every evening, with my glass of wine, enjoying the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful property!
We enjoyed the fishing dock and kayak. Close to lots of places to visit.
So glad you enjoyed your stay! It was our pleasure to have you.
Casita del Rio - Great Hosts
This casita is located along a tranquil bend in the Braden River. The owners have built a very comfortable, screened-in porch in which to relax, kick back, and enjoy the beauty of the river. The house is comfortable with all the amenities. The host, Mary Ann was most gracious during my stay. A day after arrival I became quite ill, apparently caused by food eaten at a local fast-food joint. I was too ill to drive, and Mary Ann went beyond the call of duty, making a trip to the local supermarket to purchase food and supplies to hasten my recovery. This was greatly appreciated! I would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for the great review. I know how miserable it can be to feel poorly when away from home. Glad you are on the mend. Come back again with the rest of your family.
A very special weekend
The River House is an exceptional experience. The owners are charming and most helpful...the property is lovely.
My favorite VRBO stay by far!
Cozy, beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed the view from the lanai most of all! I felt refreshed after my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking rest and relaxation.
Bradenton is a small retirement community on the Gulf of Mexico between Sarasota (10 miles/15 min) and St Petersburg/Clearwater (34 miles /37 minutes), Tampa (48 miles/47 min) and Orlando (118 miles/ 107 min). Our community is in the Eastern part of town and we are surrounded by horse farms and quiet neighborhoods ideals for cycling. The amazing Anna Maria Island beaches are just minutes away as are wonderful nature parks. There is great shopping nearby at the University Park Mall and at the Ellenton Outlet Mall.
