Beautiful Property
We stayed in the 'Fearon' room at Ranelagh. This is a grand and lovely old house with a wonderful sense of atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were easily able to gain access to both the house and our room via the coded keypads (there was no manager onsite). The house was full of guests the night of our stay and my husband and I enjoyed a friendly and amusing chat with a family and their young children who were already in residence whilst we allowed our dog some exercise in the garden. There is a pool and tennis court available for guest use, and an outdoor table in a BBQ area that adjoins the kitchen. The gardens are very pleasant and expansive. The interior of the house is lovely; furnished in keeping with the age and grandeur of the house and again provides opportunities for guest recreation with a large sitting room with plenty of couches, a library and a billiards room replete with a very impressive full size pool table. Our room was very clean and included the added benefit of an ensuite (I believe the other rooms have their own bathrooms, but guests need to leave their room to access them). It was quite a warm day (34 degrees C) when we stayed - thankfully the house has ducted cooling throughout. Our room also had a pedestal fan to move the air around and I was quite grateful for this, as I think it would have been uncomfortably warm without it. In all, we had a very pleasant stay in a unique property and we would very happily book there again.

Don't hesitate. Just book it.
Charming homestead with elegant proportions. Everything possible has been provided for an enjoyable stay. We played tennis and patted Monty The Horse but alas didn't get to have a game of billiards. We wished we could have stayed much longer. Thank you!

Quiet & Close!
We stayed overnight and it was a beautiful spacious place to stay with comfy rooms and plenty of space to do your own thing. Was also pet friendly which allowed our dog to come with us and sold us immediately. Would definitely come back!

Lovely old house & gardens however a somewhat odd feeling not being greeted. Also not having wi-fi seemed a bit remiss in this day and age

Back to Yesteryear
Stayed at Ranelagh for one night, but would have happily stayed longer if required. This gorgeous old mansion was full of character and very well maintained inside. The property was full on the night when we were there and there was enough room for privacy and independent activity, eg watching TV or playing pool. We met the housekeeper who was very obliging and helpful. I would definitely stay at Ranelagh again.
