About Dana and Peggie Campbell
We live and grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We came to Gatlinburg on our honeymoon in 1975 and fell in love with the area. We and our three children have been returning on vacation yearly ever since. We finally had the opportunity to purchase property in Gatlinburg and want to share it so others can enjoy it as much as we have.
Dana and Peggie Campbell purchased this Chalet in 2015
Why Dana and Peggie Campbell chose Chalet Village
Our cabin is in a prime location. We love the national park and now it is in our own back yard. We love the A-frame, chalet-style home along with the mountain, city, and tram views. It has plenty of room for our large family to come up at the same time and be able to spread out and relax.
What makes this Chalet unique
It's close to town yet feels like we are in the national park. There's plenty of wildlife activity. The location is less than 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, the national park, and the Pigeon Forge bypass.

We had a smooth and enjoyable visit! Our family (10 adults) had enough room to hang out together but also had enough room to hang out on our own without stepping on one another's toes. We enjoyed the quick drive downtown each day or out to Pigeon Forge. We were a little disappointed we kept missing the bears but they finally paid us a visit on our last day. Super awesome!! A suggestion to others: if you're not used to mountain driving, skip the bypass and go through town. It was a bit scary if you have never driven those twisty roads. But we still loved it! Thank you for a great time!!
View of the mountains was beautiful. Great location! Close to the park entrance. Kitchen stocked with plenty of utensils and appliances. We saw bears several days. One tried opening our van door, so make sure to lock car doors. Keep the carabiner on the trash can or the bears will get into it. Would stay here again!
Excellent chalet very close to the town!
We had a really nice time at the chalet. It was very clean and as described on the website. The property is hardly 5 mins away from the action. We also spotted a couple of bears during our stay!
Mills Family Review
Very spacious, comfortable, great views, great location, everything we needed and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after an active day!
Great cabin for a weekend getaway!
The cabin was clean and very well equipped with toiletries and kitchen items as well as entertainment! There was plenty of space between rooms for privacy. Very close to downtown Gatlinburg as well as the park which was very convenient, however the location was a little difficult to get to due to the hills and sharp curves! We got to see lots of bears, but we didn’t expect them to come up so close to the house, which was a little unsettling with small children around on the deck, however we still enjoy getting to see them. The pool and clubhouse access was a definite plus, and the kids really enjoyed their time there. Overall the house was wonderful and we had a great time. I would suggest adding some information about the steepness of the roads and curves to get there as we had not expected them based solely on the map and having never stayed in that area before.
Bear Alley for sure!
We saw bears the minute we checked in and throughout our stay. There was plenty of room for all family members to watch TV and play games. We had a great time at Bear Alley.
We are located in Chalet Village on Ski Mountain within 4 minutes of downtown Gatlinburg, the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Pigeon Forge bypass. There are many great restaurants, family activities, shows, and shopping within a 4 to 10-minute drive.
