This villa is a charming one-bedroom villa in West Indian Style cottages on the East End of St. Croix. The villa includes full-size kitchen, king-size bed, spacious living room and dining area with beautiful island furnishings.
This villa is centrally located just five minutes east of "Christiansted" the main town with supermarkets, delis, bank, post office, and Laundromat with drop-off service. Also the villa is approximately 10 to 15 minutes west of the Casino Resort.
The local favorite restaurant, Cheeseburgers in Paradise, is within walking distance along with other restaurants and beaches less than a quarter mile away from the property. The villa can occupy a maximum of four persons.
The amenities include cable TV, CD and stereo, air conditioner and ceiling fans, local telephone, sofa bed, and swimming pool view.
The condo was clean, cute, and located close to Christiansted and the east end of the island. Easy to find, safe and secure, everything in place, simple to get in and out. All in all a breeze!
I was in St Croix to purchase a condo so the views were not important to me. This condo is very nice and has basically everything you need. The area is very clean. You must keep the ac on at night as the unit is in the kitchen and far from the bedroom. You must have a car as there is only one restaurant in walking distance.
I am from St Croix but away for Medical Reasons. I visited for one of My Grand son Graduation. I stayed at this Villa for one week and mainly since it is a gated community. I felt safe here and had no crime issues. The Villa was clean, quiet and well equipped with basics need for daily living and to include Beach supplies also. It is not too far from the town area and the Bypass was great to travel on. I use the Chenay Bay and The Palms for my Beach swimming and relaxation. I ate at various nearby restaurants and cooked a little. I did not have Landline service and internet for My cell phone or I Pad and and the owner did not know why when I notified him. I know how things run in the islands so since it was a short trip I survived. I would highly recommend this Cozy Villa for anyone stay and Mr Henneman seems to be a nice to deal with.
We stayed in this condo for 3 weeks. It's perfect for a couple. In theory two more persons could sleep on the convertible sofa, but it would be crowded in my opinion.
The owner is very responsive to questions and issues (of which we had a couple of minor ones). The condo was clean when we arrived. My wife and I are tall, so the KING bed was much appreciated.
Some general notes:
Roads on St. Croix can be very curvy and challenging after dark. However, the condo's location on the east end is close enough to Christiansted that we felt comfortable driving there after dark. Places you can walk to include: Cheeseburgers in America's Paradise (next to the condo complex), Shoreline at Chaney Bay, and Tamarind Bay (with two restaurants - Deep End and Galleon). Beyond that, you'll need a car.
The trip from the airport is fairly straightforward. The owner gave me a suggested route which I studied on-line for orientation. The owner also sent us a list of recommended car rental companies. We used an independent car rental (Skyline). They met us at the airport with the car. UNIQUELY IN THE US, VIRGIN ISLANDS DRIVE ON THE LEFT. However, cars do not have the driver's wheel on the right (as they normally would in left side driving countries). It's unlikely you'll need to pass anyone, so having the wheel on the left is not a major problem.
We're not beach people, but I noticed that nearby Chaney Bay is a nice beach open to non-residents - be polite and buy something from their restaurant while using their beach.
Various internet postings suggest that St. Croix has a problem with robberies, burglaries, etc. We encountered no such issues. Perhaps in high season, and when a cruise ship is calling, there might be more opportunistic crime against visitors. We live in a large US city, so we're used to common crime avoidance habits (e.g.: be aware of your surroundings, don't leave valuables visible, etc.). These precautions should be observed in St. Croix as anywhere.
Talk to locals about restaurants. Many open air places that appear to be snack bars actually have full menus with various cuisines.
We would book this condo again!
My husband and I had a great time at the this villa! The location is perfect, and its in a gated community! The Villa had everything we needed, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom towels and beach towels and a very comfortable king size bed! Theres a pool that's right in the backyard and it had a wet bar too! We stayed for about a week, although I wish we could have stayed longer! And David the owner was always available when we needed him (being just a phone call away of course!) If we do ever come back to St Croix, this will be out choice of residence! I would recommend this Villa to anyone!
My family and I had a wonderful time at the Villa. We started our vacation with our adult kids and for the second half we were alone. Really enjoyed the island and the accommodation at the villa. We will definitely stay here again.
