About mary

I moved to Venice to care for my parents nearing 18yrs ago. I bought this house in one of the original neighborhoods 13 yrs ago, because of the peacefulness it brought me. I work hard for many years working for a major airline and I take pride, on my days off to work around my house, fixing it up ,landscaping and making it a oasis retreat for others to enjoy, relax and feel at home. I am honest, loyal and enjoy meeting people and making new friends. I love the water and the beautiful beaches and boating. And hoping one day soon my retirement will come so I may enjoy all this town has to offer, more frequently!

mary purchased this bungalow in 1957

Why mary chose Venice

It's quiet, has charm. Great friendly neighbors. Centrally located to every thing in Venice. Minutes to the beaches . Minutes to the island of Venice. Living where I'm at ,makes me feel like I'm on vacation everyday. I live in a relax neighborhood to enjoy peacefulness, but to adventure out to enjoy what this town has to offer, I can explore by bicycle or jump in the car.

What makes this bungalow unique

It had character. It reminded me of a cottage, bungalow up north. Because it's older, it has a intimate feel about it. Its not an open floor plan that doesn't give you a sense of that " coziness!" It's a northern cottage, bungalow, cabin feel. ! My daughter and I first saw it , that was our reaction. PERFECT!

Extremely clean, equipped and helpful host

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. The quaint home has been completely redo.

The host who lives behind the home could not have been nicer. Mary went out of her way to please us. The kitchen is very well appointed and Mary even went and got another toaster since we were having trouble with the one in the home. She even supplied laundry soap and several other things I did not expect like zip lock bags, foil and saran wrap. We enjoyed our stay very much and would rent the home again. She did not charge us extra when our adult daughter came for a few days. Thank you Mary

The place and Mary were both a joy! It was just what I wanted, close to stores and the bike trails. I highly recommend it for a stay in the Venice area.

Mary's place was comfortable and very clean. It was convenient to beaches, restaurants and shopping, as well as historic Venice. She went out of her way to accommodate us. Take note, Venice is a congested area with a lot of traffic.

Conveniently located for exploring the Venice area

  • 4 of 5

The property was as described, owner is friendly and helpful, beds were comfortable, TV and wifi worked well. Located on a busy street with heavy traffic at certain times of the day. Birds right outside the door, and many species of birds in the neighborhood across the street where I frequently walked. Our dog was warmly welcomed. The home was clean and well kept.

Review of rental home located at 1716 Banyan Dr., Venice, FL. 34293. # 902049

My wife and I stayed at this delightful 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom bungalow during most of the month of January, 2017. It had a completely equipped kitchen along with a washer and dryer, a comfortable living room with a flat- screen TV and associated goodies as well as an excellent Internet connection. The home and yard were well maintained and were exceptionally clean and orderly. The maritime pictures and quotations on the walls lent a surfside feel to the property. The landlord was very friendly and helpful and assisted us in getting settled. We were located only about 8 -10 minutes from the ocean in a residential subdivision of single-family homes. Not only did we have close access to the many beaches and natural areas that Venice has to offer but shopping and local services were readily at hand. Venice's beaches are great with plenty of room for all. Shelling and looking for fossil shark teeth were among the fun things to do there. And oh, those fantastic sunsets....
