About Kathleen Lamont

A transplant from Southern California, I moved to western North Carolina 24 years ago to see if I would like it--and I guess I do. I am an organic gardener, raise a sizable vegetable garden each year and raise small fruit, blueberries, raspberries, apples. I have 15 chickens and was a beekeeper for 4 years. At one point I lived in Washington State and owned and operated a 5 bedroom bed and breakfast. Hope to see you soon.

Kathleen Lamont purchased this cottage in 1996

Why Kathleen Lamont chose Waynesville

A beautiful remote four acre piece of property that is both rural and close-in to Main Street Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Lake Junaluska (2.5 mile walk around), golf, hiking, Mountains to Sea Trail, Cataloochee for snow skiing in the winter and watching the elk in the summer, and Asheville, the Paris of the South.

Owner's Response: Eric was an excellent guest. He is a great communicator, followed all House Rules to a T, and left the Little Green Cottage very clean. I enjoyed having him as a guest and would recommend him to all VRBO hosts. Come back soon Eric!

Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great stay. Kathleen is a wonderful hostess. The fresh eggs from her chickens and tomatoes from her garden were an unexpected surprise along with the coffee and bagles. The location was ideal for us to do all our road trips in the area (Waynesville, Franklin, Cherokee, Highlands). The cottage was ideal for our needs. The bed was very comfortable (queen) especially since we're use to a king bed. The only drawback, for a larger person, is the shower is small. My husband is 6'3", 225 lbs so it was a little tight for him but it worked non-the-less. The Wifi was excellent so we were able to keep in contact with our family without any issues. The front porch is an excellent spot to enjoy a good book. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, cozy spot to relax and unwind.

The Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Cottage it is a cute little house on a hill with friendly neighbors nearby, we loved hearing the sounds of the birds and watching the chipmunk sneaking apples off the ground, and the many butterflies on the flowers outside the kitchen window too. This place is located only minutes away from the Golf Course and shopping. We were there in July and the weather was perfect !!

Enjoyable stay at the Little Green Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The Little Green Cottage was adorable nestled back on a hill. Very quiet. It is a cozy cottage and easy access to Asheville, Bryson City, Maggie Valley and the surrounding cities.

Little green cottage in Waynesville, NC

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time. Kathleen was so helpful and a very nice person. The cabin was perfect, clean and homey. Just one problem - will she adopt me?

Since we had not been in that area of the mountains she provided us with very interesting places to visit. A wide variety was listed and we could pick those that interested us.
