About Wayne McCamey

Both Wayne and I were born and raised in East Tennessee. We have only lived in two towns in our 46 years together. We raised our girls in Greeneville TN and moved to Morristown in 2006. We have many hobbies and relaxing at the lake is first on our list. We are in our late 60's and thinking about retiring in a few years, but we have many things left on our "bucket list".

Wayne McCamey purchased this house in 1999

Why Wayne McCamey chose Morristown

We have been coming to Cherokee Lake since our children were young, in the mid 70's. We've camped out and owned campers and it was only natural to look at lake property when we moved to Morristown. After seeing this house, we had to have it. We never dreamed we would ever own a lake house, but it has been a pleasure to us. So many friends and family have gotten to enjoy our home. Now this is another phase in our lives. We are going to have a vacation rental home.

We want to share our lake house and lake experiences with others. Come, relax and enjoy all that Cherokee Lake has to offer.

What makes this house unique

I guess our favorite feature of our home is the view from our deck. Our lake house is conveniently located to our primary home and all the special places we like to frequent. It is a very safe neighborhood and our neighbors live there year round. Cherokee lake levels fluctuate and we always have water year round. The location is on a great part of the lake that we have visited for many, many years.

Our home is located in a cove right off the main channel and is very convenient to Fall Creek Marina, where they have gas and snacks.

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

The owners were wonderful, communicated very well. The home is the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in, anywhere! Very well stocked with all we needed. We felt very comfortable, and "at home" all week. The covered boat dock was great, we brought our pontoon along. Caught a few fish, including a nice 24" flathead catfish! Our daughter swam off the dock until her heart was content. We made great memories here, and would definitely rent again!

Great lake house, very nice and clean, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our fall family fishing trip. House is lake front with very nice covered dock. The house was very spacious and super clean. The hosts/owners were so nice and very accommodating, they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The owners are also available and local for any issues that may come up and they were very fast to respond to questions. We definitely plan to stay here again, so nice to just walk across the back yard, get in the boat and go fishing.

My family enjoyed our stay on the lake for the weekend. The house was great; it had plenty of room for all of us, with a well stocked kitchen with cookware. We loved the convince of being on the lake for taking our pontoon and fishing boat out. We would definitely consider staying again!

Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time staying at this lake house. Cannot say enough good things about it! There were 6 adults and 4 kids and we had plenty of room for everyone. The kids loved having their own space downstairs. The house had everything we needed for our 4 days there. It was very clean and decorated nicely. The driveway went all the way to the water which made it easy getting our boat in the water and the boat dock was very convenient. The kids enjoyed jumping off the dock and playing with the provided paddleboard, paddle boat and kayak. Thank you so much for allowing us to have a family get together in your lovely home!!

Dollywood and Splash Country are only about an hours drive on I-40. Guest can enjoy all that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have to offer. Lots and lots of shopping at Five Oaks Outlet Mall. Don't miss The Island with the 200 foot Smoky Mountain Wheel and retail shops. One of my favorite places to visit in Pigeon Forge is The Inn at Christmas Place. The staff are wonderful about allowing people to view all the great decorations, usually have some apple cider or coffee available and a nice lobby to rest for a few moments. My granddaughter enjoys visiting there all year round. It' is as beautiful in the summer as in the winter season.
