About Janice Scheve
I have the fever (and some luck) of finding old homes that need TLC and making them new again. Emily's Post is the 12th house that I have brought back to life. My husband and I are from Houston TX and now live in Washington, TX. When we aren't taking care of cows or playing with our 5 grandchildren, he is an attorney in Houston and I am managing our vacation rentals. I am retired from 18 years at Raymond James and Assoc., where I worked as Complex Admin. Mgr. This is more fun. Check our other active property in Washington, TX, called, "Pearl's Place" to learn more about us and the surrounding area! Pearl's Place is on FM 1155 and is due north of Chappell Hill about 15 minutes.
Janice Scheve purchased this House in 2016
Why Janice Scheve chose Chappell Hill
This house is the perfect location for weekend vacationers, being located in downtown Chappell Hill, TX a destination spot for travelers. Chappell Hill is 10 miles west of Brenham, TX. Brenham is located halfway between Houston and Austin on Hwy. 290.
What makes this House unique
This house is on a 1/2 acre corner lot in the heart of Chappell Hill, TX. The 1959, spacious home is like going back to the 50's, but with the amenities and luxuries of a modern hotel (except room service. You bring and prepare your own food of course). High quality linens, bedding, and towels. Robes in every closet. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need for food or drink preparation. If the weather is too hot or cold, you can sit in the sunroom and still enjoy the outdoor view through the new double-paned (and quiet) windows. When you have had enough of sitting in the Adirondack chairs around the firepit in the backyard, you can grill on the charcoal grill and enjoy dinner on the picnic table under a HUGE oak tree in the front yard. One car garage has a half bath. 30-yd-long driveway provides parking for everyone. Just steps away from shopping or restaurants but the large lot and yards give you the feeling of privacy. Come see Chappell Hill and stay within walking distance of everything.

Our second stay
Love the convenience of being on Main Street and not having to get in our car all weekend. Very nice that Janice added a second full bath since the last time we were there. The outdoor firepit was very nice and the grandkids enjoyed the large yard. We hope to be able to stay again.
Our guests from out of town loved the house and found it very clean, comfortable and convenient. They enjoyed their stay.
So clean and comfortable!
We rented the home for an entire month for family to use during Christmas. It was perfect for us. Everyone was comfortable and it was such a convenient location. The house was very clean and the kitchen had what we needed for cooking and eating. The beds are very comfortable. The den was very spacious and we had several get together there for our whole family. The only improvement would be to add another bathroom and she has plans to do this in the coming months. We just loved it!
Park your car
We really enjoyed staying at Janice's home during the Scarecrow Festival. The beds were comfortable. Even though there was only one bathroom it worked for our family of 7, 2 toddlers and 5 adults. The yard was very nice with a fire pit and chairs. Everything was within walking distance. We definitely plan to stay there again next year. Thanks Janice.
