Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

An incredible vantage point of Texas Hill Country is yours to savor at this 3BR, 2BA house (sleeps 6) with walls of windows and a deck that runs the entire width of the home, taking full advantage of the view.

Just 15 minutes from downtown Austin and less than a mile from Hill Country favorites like BBQ joints, wine bars, cafes, and more!

INSIDE THE HOUSE

This home is a prime example of the Hill Country Contemporary architectural style. In the lodge-like living area, find beam ceilings, hardwood floors, and plush furniture, all centered around a stone fireplace and astounding views of Hill Country through a wall of windows.

There’s also a large flat screen TV in this space. The adjacent dining area seats 11 and it, too, faces these second-to-none views. (Wait until you see sunsets from up here!)

The kitchen awaits your group meals, with gleaming stainless appliances, plenty of counter space, and custom cabinets fully stocked with cookware and dishes for your group.

Each of the home’s 3 bedrooms has sliding-door access to the incredible deck and big views of Hill Country. Options include a king-size master suite with attached bath, a 2nd bedroom with two twin beds, and a queen-size 3rd bedroom.

The deck will fast become your favorite spot at this rental – maybe in the entire Austin area! All of Hill Country stretches before you from up here, and the view only gets better as the day goes on.

Please note: The laundry room is shared with a long-term tenant, who lives on-site in the home attached via the laundry room only.

THE LOCATION

This is the best of Hill Country! Secluded and quiet – and with a king’s view of the entire countryside – but still just 15 minutes from downtown Austin. Great for group getaways, you can divide your time between adventures in the city, quiet time at home, and outings to Hill Country favorites like The Grove Wine Bar and The County Line for BBQ & steak, both just a half-mile from this rental.

This property is nestled in the hills of western Austin. The house is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood and is only about 10 minutes from downtown Austin (depending on traffic). It was the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. Good south- and westward views of hill country.

Adult family get-away for long weekend. 15 mins from downtown Austin yet far enough away to enjoy the awesome hill country views from the deck! Older home well maintained and clean. "Sunken shower" off master has low set shower head making it challenging for taller people. Beds comfy!

Like we were staying a a friends home!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving week vacation here visiting our son and his wife who live in Austin. The location was perfect whether traveling downtown, to Magnilia Market in Waco for the day, or a day touring Texas wineries.

We were 6 adults in the home (grandparents in 70s, my husband and I in 50s, and two 20 years old sons) The level living was excellent for parent having knee issues. We had plenty of space to move comfortably in the home and the boys even had their own side of the house and bathroom.

King master bed was as good as our mattress at home which is very nice (we have never found a VRBO which could claim that), the queenbed was equally comfortable. The twins were a.

bit firm and could have used a topper in them for softness.

We enjoyed Thabksgoving dinner at the home (with help from Whole Foods) there was ample kitchen dishes for serving, cloth napkins and napkin rings and even a drop leaf table to use as a Buffett!

We kept commenting it was as if we were house sitting in a friend's home while they were out of town.

The sunsets were fabulous and we tried to make sure we were home to enjoy them as our own view was better than most restaurants or outdoor areas.

Highlights nearby we enjoyed were hiking the 360 Bridge and Basin, day trip to Waco (with traffic and construction it was about hour and 45 minutes). Texas Olive Oil company was fabulous! We are planning a girls trip back to enjoy Fredricksburgh and the many local wineries.

Highly recommend this location and property and would stay there again.

Reviewer Comments:

All of us enjoyed the views from the balcony. While we were there, the weather was cold and windy which limited our time sitting outside. But, because of the several lovely sliding glass doors, we were able to enjoy the views from inside. The house was a bit smaller than it appeared in pictures, and the master bathtub is a sunken tub which made for a hazardous in and out, but the older cousins used the other bathroom with a regular tub/shower combo, and the younger ones were able to navigate the sunken tub without incident. Just think it would be a good idea to let potential renters know about the sunken tub. The grill which is shown on the deck in the pictures, and we intended to use, was nowhere to be found. Reported this to rental company, and every effort was made to settle this matter, which they did, in a timely manner, to our satisfaction. We visited downtown Austin, SoCo area, took the Duck Tour, and made The Oasis scene on Lake Travis, and had BBQ at The County Line on Bee Cave Rd. Overall, the cousins felt they had had a good overview of the Austin area.
