About Chris and Jean

Christopher and Jean, Asheville residents for 25 years,. We love this area and know you will too.

Chris and Jean purchased this house in 2016

Why Chris and Jean chose Jackson Park

This property is surprisingly private for being located so close to downtown Asheville. It is a wonderful place to bring your family (either children or canine) where they have plenty of room to roam in both the fenced front and back yards.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello, fellow travelers! My family used this space as a transition to moving to Asheville and it was absolutely perfect. North Asheville is my favorite part of town by far. It's classy and there's so much to do! Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Ingles, The Fresh Market, Asheville Pizza & Brewing (and cinema!), CVS, Walgreens, Rosetta's Kitchen (best vegetarian food in the area) and the Grove Park Inn are ALL within a 5 minute or less drive. The location is quiet and I've never had friendlier neighbors. People are often out walking their dogs and if you have the stamina to walk up the neighborhood mountain, the view and the homes are absolutely incredible! The space itself is perfect for a small family. It was me, my husband, our baby and our mother-in-law in this 2/2 and it was comfortable for all of us. The front AND backyards are gated, letting us feel comfortable having our little man run around in (or your dogs!) The kitchen is filled with all of your needs and has a great gas stove, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are cute and clean. There's plenty of storage space, sitting areas and workplaces. I recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Asheville for any period of time. Jean was very efficient, professional, kind and even surprised us with a little welcome gift. There's a washer/dryer, cable (and Netflix/Amazon local) and wifi so you have everything you could ever need. There's even an awesome hammock to lay out in on the front porch if it's not too cold. Come stay here! We were sad to leave and I know you'll enjoy it too!EditDelete

This is such a great home. I really enjoyed my stay. The neighborhood is friendly and so welcoming. Great group of folks. And the location is perfect. It's close to great places to eat, shop and downtown. The owners Jean and Chris are very helpful and accommodating. They make you feel like family. I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely home in a great location in Asheville!

  • 5 of 5

This home was just great! Wonderful location on a really cute private street only 2 miles from town. Harris Teeter, Fresh Market, Trader Joes really close by and lots of restaurants and coffee shops around. A quick drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway and tons of hiking trails. The house was perfect. I had my dog with me and the back and front yards were both fenced in. The huge back yard was wonderful! Jean couldn't have been more helpful with lots of information about hiking, restaurants, etc. All together, a wonderful stay! Thanks so much, Jean!!!

Wonderful Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Words can't describe how much I enjoyed my stay at Jean and Chris's place in Asheville. I was in town for work, so I stayed for a few months with my 2 dogs. They loved the double lot backyard with plenty of room to run. I do not have anything negative to say about my stay. The neighbors were great, and Jean and Chris were always available if I needed them for any reason. They respected my privacy during my stay, and checked in with me periodically to make sure everything was going well. There are restaurants within walking distance including Asheville Pizza and Brewing, and Taco and Taps. However, getting downtown is a very short drive and getting an Uber downtown is super cheap. Its a great spot and a great house! I will absolutely try to rent this place again when I am back in Asheville.

Charming, Cozy, Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed a month is this house over the summer. It's located in such a convenient area in Asheville, which makes it very easy to drive anywhere, or walk if you'd like. Extremely close to downtown as well as grocery stores such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe's.

The house is beautiful. It's light, airy, cozy, yet so open and spacious. The neighbors are friendly and our three year old son absolutely loved he hammock on the front porch. He played in the year every single day safely surrounded by the gorgeous white picket fence. The back yard is a perfect size and we loved having BBQs and eating on the deck. There's so much charm in this place and we'd certainly visit again.

Great place to relax and unwind!

  • 5 of 5

Staying at the Fenner house for the month of August was a real pleasure! I stayed with my dog Charlie, who was recovering from surgery and couldn't go up and down stairs, so it was the perfect set up for his recovery and my in-town vacation.

The house is comfortable, cheery, and spacious, with cozy areas. The front porch was a great! We would hang out there in the evenings, me rocking in the rocking chair or lounging in the hammock and Charlie napping or supervising the passers by. We got to experience simpler times. The neighborhood is very walk-able with friendly neighbors.

The house is very close to Merrimon Avenue, yet so quiet. You don't hear any of the noise from that busy street, but can still walk to a fun pizza place/brewery, Breuggers Bagels, and other restaurants. It's located just a few miles north of downtown and has several grocery stores nearby.

Even though it was just me & my pup, the house is very versatile and it would be good for families. There's table space for playing games/doing puzzles, a living area for visiting or relaxing and watching movies, and there's even a downstairs romper room (or craft or exercise or meditation space). It is a great home base for venturing out to see all of Asheville's sights...then coming back to a familiar, inviting, comfortable place to regroup for the next adventure.

I would definitely stay at the Fenner house again. It was a safe, comfortable place of healing for us and I would recommend it to just about anyone. Thank you Jean and Chris!
