Lovely big living space and cosy bedrooms. Suited the family really well.
Cosy, comfy and relaxing house on KI.
We enjoyed our stay at Sea Stone Cottage over 4 nights of Easter 2019. As first time visitors to KI it was a good place to be based for touring this amazing island. The house was clean and well kept (however tissues and paper towel might be handy), instructions clear, beds comfortable and the is house light and spacious. We utilised the wood fire which was lovely in the evenings (curtains on the living room would help retain heat in winter and create privacy though), and everything we needed was available in the kitchen.
Nice to see wildlife - KI Kangaroos and Tammar Wallabies - around the house, and hoping as the burnt bushes regenerate the native birds return in larger numbers. While close to the main road, traffic was minimal so road noise wasn't an issue at all.
One negative was the water pump - it came on randomly during the night and is quite noisy when running, particularly as it is right underneath the bedroom windows.
Overall a lovely place to stay - would recommend especially for summer access to beautiful Emu Bay beach just down the road.:)
Clean comfortable and relaxed ambience
Natural light and very peaceful
lovely comfortable house, very peaceful
loved the house, well provided, comfortable beds, reasonable location....a nice walk to the local lavender farm coffee shop and the bay. Nice peaceful place to come back to after a day enjoying this end of the island.
Emu Bay was quaint, the house was quite spacious, and although it was not far from the main road in and out, it had surprisingly little traffic noise. I did find the water pump very noisy, as it was prone to starting up randomly when we were not using any water.
The wild life around the house was nice to watch as the roos casually fed on the grass around the house.
The house was 2 km from Emu Bay beach which was spectacular, and about 10 mins from Kingscote, I had limited or no mobile reception (which is not a bad thing at all).
KI was a great deal bigger than I expected, and all the activities we wanted to do were nearer to the ferry end of the island, so next time I would have to weigh up my options, nice accommodation and shops or close by activities. either way, it was a very pleasant stay, and would certainly go back.
It was very nice.
