About Barbara Stewart
We bought this property in 2015 so we would have a fun place to hang out while visiting our daughter just down the street. We can't be there full time so thought we would set it up to share with other travelers who also need a short term place to stay in the Heath/Rockwall area.

What makes this House unique
I've always wanted to live on a lake or waterfront. This house has the best back deck ever imaginable looking right at the water. We can walk out the back door and fish any time without having to pack up the car and take everything to the water. The neighborhood is super quiet so we don't feel like the children need to be watched every single moment of every day. Our granddaughter loves being outdoors and this place is perfect for her to roam around in the yard and grounds. If you are looking to swim in the lake, this is not the place. There isn't a beach type access as this little cove is more of a natural reed area where fish can hide and feed bringing the ducks and herons to feed right in front of your eyes.

Property well kept and makes a good home away from home for activities in Lake Ray Hubbard area.
Property used as home base for fishing vacation on Lake Ray Hubbard. Allowed three families to socialize in the evening in a relaxed atmosphere without having to deal with separate facilities at hotels or motels.
Fantastic Way To Relax
Our family enjoyed a wonderful reunion at this wonderful place. Fantastic view of the lake and we had a great time with family relaxing, playing cards and reconnecting. I highly recommend this place for getting away from it all!
The house is very spacious; there is plenty of room for a family with multiple kids or even three couples. The view of the lake is relaxing, and there is a great covered porch with lots of seating as well as a wall of windows in the living room to enjoy the water while you visit. The water pressure is good, and all the linens are nice. Overall the house is beautifully decorated, and the location was convenient, only 30 minutes from most anything we wanted to do in Dallas.
It was a great place to stay we loved it.
My son was getting married in Texas on November 26 and my family and I had made previous reservations at another home and at the last minute they cancelled us and I'm from northern Michigan...so I panicked..but when I found this home VRBO I immediately sent on my request..and Barbara the owner responded in less than a half hour..she's remarkable...we arrived in Texas on the 21st of November and stayed until the 27th...it was lovely..it accommodated us very well..it was very quiet. Nice neighborhood..we walked...there was a little park close by.. the lake views were very nice..a very peaceful setting..we Loved it. .we would love to go back in the near future...Thank Barbara And Faimly....it was a Joy...and the Wedding was beautiful...
I was so excited to find this little GEM on the lake. The house is really clean. It was a welcome change to have a fully stocked kitchen with all the needed utensils., and by that I mean a wine opener. :)
The house is easy to find and the neighborhood is quiet. The backyard offers a great view of the lake and easy access to the water.
I will be back.
Terrible. Do not stay at this home under any circumstances.
It's sad to have to write this review, but I feel it is critical to warn other guests before staying here. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, stay at this rental property.
1) The homeowner is extremely dishonest. My family took great care of the house during our stay, and the homeowner decided to keep our deposit to repair a scratch that was on the TV prior to our arrival. She then proceeded to lie about it, and said that she "figured that we probably did it."
2) The homeowner asked that we lie to her neighbors. Upon arrival to the property, the homeowner called to let us know that she is not supposed to be renting out this property. She requested that if we were approached by any of her neighbors, that we lie to them and say that we are friends of the family.
3) The homeowner claims there is lake/fishing access on this property. This is blatantly false. You have to trespass on her neighbor's property to have fishing or lake access.
4) The homeowner repeatedly lied, changed stories, and was flat out disrespectful when we challenged her on the deposit she decided to steal from our family.
Don't make the same mistake that we did. DO NOT stay at this property. Pay a little more or stay somewhere else and at least you'll be able to deal with an honest person.
I did retain their deposit for the damage that was done to the television set (almost new) during their stay. It was not damaged when they arrived and was damaged when they departed. No one else would have been present to have caused the damage so I felt it necessary to ask them to pay for the damage caused by their group since the damage was pretty extensive and glaringly obvious. It really upsets me when I feel it necessary to collect on the damage deposit. I like to take care of my property and I expect guests to take care of my property. It is even more upsetting when a guest doesn't take responsibility for the damage that occurs during their stay and feels it necessary to harm an owner in retaliation or try to bully an owner into giving the money back by threatening harm to the owner. This review is their way of retaliation and making good on their bullying threats.
In response to the claim that lake/fishing access on the property is "blatantly false" - I do not know how they could say it is blatantly false as the lake is right there - In the back yard. People ask to use our property all the time to fish out the back of our house. There are boats all the time that pull into our little cove to fish in our reed area. The neighbor definitely has a better setup as she has put in a great cement pad from which to fish from but the lake is still right out back on our property, too. Same water. Same lake. Same shoreline. Fishing access is not blatantly false. Bring your pole and fishing license and enjoy.
