This cabin was built with serenity in mind. Sit on the large front porch and enjoy the sounds of nature all around you. It is set on 6.7 acres with woods all around the cabin. The snowmobile trail crosses the land during the winter as well. There are walking trails, a fire pit and the Kickapoo River directly across a quiet road from the cabin. This cabin can sleep up to four, with a queen size bed in the upper loft and a futon that folds out on the main level. There is one bathroom, with a stand-up shower. There is electric heat. The cabin has a refrigerator, microwave and stove/oven for your convenience. There are world class trout streams within a few minutes drive. This would be a perfect spot for a romantic getaway, or for that special hunting, fishing or snowmobile trip.

Always a wonderful stay
Second stay on this property; just as the first time, I loved my stay. Small and cozy with everything you need to hibernate for a few days. Owner very responsive for whatever question. Place is very clean, and provides the best sleep I've had in the year since I was here last! Plow came right away in the morning after 5" of snow; other than that, very little traffic on the road in front! I can't wait to stay here again.
Had a great time. Cabin was awesome as was location. Thoroughly enjoyed the view. Kitchen has a decent variety of utensils and cookware. Owner takes care of the property - everything was well maintained.
Quiet little cabin perfect for two
This cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway with my husband. The place was beautiful with tons of exposed wood and the bed was comfortable. The owner Steve was great and even came quickly to help when we accidentally locked ourselves out shortly after arriving. We were very happy with our stay and will likely be back in the summer.
Another Great Stay
I've stayed here multiple times. It's a cabin all the way. Just what I was looking for. Stays warm and is comfortable to be in. Will look to rent again in the future.
We loved our time at this cute and cozy cabin. Thanks for the great memories. :)
Things could have gone better, but it is a nice cabin
It is a nice cabin. I can't decide between 3 or 4 stars. The biggest issue was no hot water, for which we got a refund for some of the charge. We did not know of this issue ahead of time, nor the access code to get into the cabin because that information was texted to our landline. So be sure the phone number you provide to HomeAway is your cell phone. So our stay did not begin well.
We asked when we rented about hiking. There is no real hiking nearby. A path went a short way up the hill on the property. You could go down to the Kickapoo River, but that was just a muddy mess from all of the flooding. The road out front was not busy, so you can walk on that. The town is not very interesting. But the food at the Kickapoo Creekside was very good. Crazy Franks has lots of junk to consider. We drove to the Kickapoo valley reserve for hiking.
The cabin itself was fine. It is not very large, but it has good lighting. You are isolated without TV reception, wi-fi, and we had no phone service in the whole area. That is fine, but we should at least brought a radio so we could get a weather report. No radio here.
The ladder to the bed has to be carefully considered in the middle of the night. Do I really need to go to the bathroom? The place work well with our dog, though he was somewhat perplexed when we disappeared up the ladder.
Oh, and there was no top sheet for the bed which we did not like. We did not find any more sheets available in the place.
We have not yet received back the $150 damage deposit.
I do apologize for the hot water issue. The tank has been replaced and the hot water is working well now. I also appreciate you bringing the issue of not top sheet. I will address this with the person who sets up the cabin for me. I also appreciate the radio suggestion. Thank you for your stay.
