About Leila Jarvis
.Hi my name is Anita. I was born in Philadelphia and was raised in Delaware County, PA. Our family has lived in this area for close to one hundred and fifty years. My ancestors on both sides came from Italy and that makes me second generation Italian American. We lived an hour and a half from Atlantic City and after my grandmother bought a home in Brigantine, NJ I spent my summers at the shore which I loved until I discovered the western mountains. Even when I was a young girl I was drawn to the west (maybe it was all those western movies and television shows my generation grew up on). After raising my children and getting a divorce I decided it was time to live my dream. After vacationing in the Salmon area in 1994 I knew this was where I wanted to live, so in 1997 I moved with my oldest daughter, one dog and a cat, no job lined up but I wasn't worried because I was from a generation that believe that if you wanted to work you will find something and in two weeks I had a job. I promised my mother that I would wait two years before buying a home(she hoped I would change my mind and come back)and it took me that long to find the perfect home for me. I got to stay in Salmon 8 years before I gave in to family to go back east but I was not ready to give up my home so I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Thank you, Anita
Leila Jarvis purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1999
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
The home is somewhat secluded, yet near all that the area has to offer. It is especially tranquil and refreshing just to sit on the deck and look at the mountains, rock formations, and hear the pond bubble and the creek gurgle.

This home is so warm and welcoming! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. We honestly spent most of our time on the large deck enjoying the view! The pond and nearby stream make the most relaxing water sounds. The managers were so accommodating and kind... just a really great experience overall! Thank you!
You and your friends are welcome anytime to rent our wonderful log home in the mountains
We appreciate you signing the book and writing a very nice comment in it. Also glad you enjoyed the pond and Creek and the serenity of the grounds
Come back again soon !
Summer and Fall are usually the busiest for activities in Salmon. Floating the Middle Fork and the Main Salmon River are great fun activities with up to level 5 rapids. Horseback riding, hiking, skiing, cycling, fishing are all at your close availability. Sacajawea Interpretive Center east of town has many planned activities and interesting artifacts about the Lewis and Clark Expedition with great walking trails. The area is abundant with American History, old mining towns and ghost towns to explore. Just enjoying the beauty of the mountains and streams is peaceful relaxation.
