About owner/property manager
MY name is Verna Gillis. I have lived for 74 years. I have done many things - I am doing other things now including a one older woman show . I ran a venue in Manhattan in the early 80's called SOUNDSCAPE. I am surprised and delighted daily to find myself living in such an extraordinary part of the world- If you have a particular interest in sculpture and / or vintage clothing plan to visit me with in Kerhonkson.

Why owner/property manager chose Accord
Unique - in feeling , materials, aesthetic - situated in beautiful downtown Accord in the magnificent Hudson Valley.
What makes this Bungalow unique
A huge space - be alone or with the people you bring - if you are a musician bring your instrument - the 1,000 sg st downstairs room has fabulous acoustics. Sit outside on chairs on the deck of the station or use the picnic table. WIFI throughout of course.

Unique, fun, totally memorable
The Accord train station is exactly as described: totally unique. Caboose on property - would be fun for train-loving kids. It was fun for us adults! The upstairs bedrooms had AC, so that was comfortable; the downstairs had a nice fan. It couldn't have been easier. Would stay again - thank you!
What a wonderful experience. I can't wait to go back. My son absolutely loved it and meeting Verna was a true delight. I feel lucky to have found this place.
Quirky. Wonderful. Probably not haunted.
Don't stay in some prissy hotel room when you have an opportunity to make your visit memorable! This is an entire train station! It's big! Concerts have been held here! Musicians: all that exposed old wood makes for great acoustics. There are two airy bedrooms upstairs, plus a sitting room and a bathroom with shower. Each bedroom has a skylight and charming old windows. Downstairs there is a large, spartan kitchen in the center of the building equipped with a dining table, double hotplate, microwave, coffee maker, small refrigerator, and a double-bowl sink. A massive wooden sliding door can close the kitchen off from a huge lodge-like main room that is sparsely furnished with an overstuffed couch, a few comfortable chairs, and a vintage General Electric AM/Shortwave vacuum tube radio. The other end of the building contains a downstairs bathroom with shower, and the train station waiting room is complete with its original wooden benches wrapping around the walls. My grandsons LOVED the ticket window and dutch door that separates the Station Agent's office from the waiting room. This is an amazing space to occupy on a windy, rainy day. There is a large, protected wooden porch to sit on and read. There is an actual caboose on a short piece of train track in the yard outside the station. This building was obviously the centerpiece of the town of Accord at one time, and the death of the railroad has left behind a quiet little downtown that currently contains a couple of artist studios, a community center, a few spooky old abandoned buildings, and a post office. It's a short stroll to the aptly named Scenic Drive, which runs beside a pretty river to a small bridge.
