About Richard Dennis
I grew up nearby in the town of Springfield Center in 1985 I enlisted in the Navy and served 6yr and was aboard the USS Silverside (SSN(679) in 1991 I moved to San Diego to work on Submarines . As I came home for visits I missed the beautiful landscape and outdoor activities Upstate NY has to offer so in 2000 I moved back home and started my own contracting business that I am still doing today
Richard Dennis purchased this House in 2012
Why Richard Dennis chose Mount Vision
I built this house in 2006 for a customer in 2012 he moved and I purchased the home because it borders my property and I wanted to help my daughter get into a home
What makes this House unique
The views the rolling hills and the peace and quite . The only thing that should startle you out here is the wildlife I have been all over the country and I still believe that this is one of the most beautiful place I have ever been.

Not a clean house. With items for your stay
This house could be amazing. The problem is they dont do a good job cleaning it. There was hair all over the blankets, and spiderwebs on the pillows that were to be used. The kitchen was dirty and the counters had sticky stuff on them. Then there was no cleaning products to try and clean the place up. The stove and grill hadnt been cleaned in awhile. The house needs a great deep clean rather then a light cleaning. 2nd it doesnt sleep 6 there is no futon in the living room. And the double bed you will be snuggling all night with your roommate. When we finally had a day to relax we spent up sweeping and trying to make it nice to be there. The chairs at the dinning room table are also broke. The only positive for this place was hsving a working washer and dryer. Wish we would of just stayed in a hotel. There was also nothing to hang your clothes on. Not a single hanger. The master bathroom shower needs flip flops on so you dont get athletes foot. Please do a great job and clean the house it has great potential
Stayed for dreams park tournament
This is about 20 min from dreams park, by the end of the week I knew how to get to it with my eyes closed. This is VERY secluded I think my kids and I say at least 40 deer in the week we were there, along with chipmunks and groundhogs (I think that's what they were). My kids loved running around in the yard, beautiful views from every area of the yard, but it is a one way dirt road up to the house, I maybe saw 2 other cars the whole week I was there. At first it was scary, but then it became beautiful. We're coming back to Cooperstown in 2 years and hopefully we can rent this place again it was perfect.
Just as described
The property is exactly what you see, it is very rural, so if you don't like to be in the middle of nowhere with out seeing a person or car, then this isn't for you. The town is about 20-25 minutes from the house, so if you're not bringing groceries with you then you're gonna have to drive a bit to the store.
That being said, everything else was basically as described. The house was clean for the most part, a few things could use some attention but nothing crazy. The grill worked, there was wood stacked, although we didn't need a fire and the fire pit was a bit iffy so we passed on that. The only thing that was a bit of an inconvenience was the fact that even though we were there at the end of May there were no air conditioners in the windows. We did have a hot spell and could have used them since the house was 80° inside. There are ceiling fans in every room but the main one in the living room didn't work.
All in all everything worked out ok and the bottom line is we would stay there again. My advice would be to check to make sure everything is working as soon as you get there and you will be fine
The pictures do not do this property justice! Beautiful home with breathtaking views! We were in awe of our weekend home from the minute we walked in! Were in town for my daughter's graduation and it was much cheaper than a boring, run of the mill hotel would have been.
Every amenity possible. Peaceful. Just beautiful. We will be back for a weekend getaway. Thank you Rich!
A relaxing getaway!
Our family really enjoyed how quiet , relaxing and comfortable the home is. Rooms are very spacious . The fireplace was a lovely feature and was great for the rainy weekend ! Incredible views! We look forward to returning !!
Beautiful house and location!
We stayed here while visiting Cooperstown for the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Farmers Museum and absolutely fell in love with it! Cannot beat the views and nice, quiet atmosphere! The house itself is so beautiful and clean, it felt like home. Richard was a great host, he was very responsive to texts/messages, accommodating when we asked for a late checkout so we would have time to check out the Farmers Museum without our pooch and left plenty of firewood for the fireplace, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We stayed here with our 4 kids and dog and everyone had plenty of space. Thank you for a great experience, we’ll definitely book again next time we’re in the area!
