We moved to the Salt Lake area with our two children in 1984. Never dreamed we'd stay here so long, but we absolutely love the environment. We learned to ski downhill, hiked, biked--this is the place (in case you didn't notice) for so many outdoor activities. Of course Utah also boasts beautiful red rock country a few hours away. Once you get addicted to that, there's no going back! So although our main house is in Salt Lake because of work and school, we loved Park City and looked to find a little "miner's shack" in the area. Our realtor who was showing us around knew the folks who owned our place and took us to see it before it went on the market. It was "quite primitive" but we loved it and the location instantly!

Why Owner chose Old Town
My husband and I thought it would be fun to get a small place in Park City that we could potentially fix up. Of course, we personally had neither the time, talent or the inclination to do the work ourselves. After about 10 years we decided we had to do something major to fix up the place. (No foundation, upstairs floor slanted a lot!) So we did a total gut and moved the house up and back from the street, put in a wonderful foundation that gave us a huge master bedroom downstairs, a dining alcove and a little porch on the upper floor--plus a driveway! Park City Historic Foundation even contributed a little money to the rebuild. Put a lot of love, time, and money into the effort but very happy with the results.
What makes this House unique
Location, location, location! Plus we think we did a pretty good job furnishing it with top notch appliances and furniture. Very comfortable, cozy.

Ski chalet feel, perfect location
This little gem has everything you could need. Perfect for family of 4-5. Owner very responsive to questions. Minutes to park city mountain or deer valley. On trolley route. Great for summer or winter!
Lovely historic home with modern amenities
This great house at the top end of Main Street beats expectations. We loved being able to walk a couple of minutes to a deli and not much further to the restaurants and stores along Main St. Carol, the owner, was very responsive all along, and provided a well-stocked larder. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, and adjoins a dining nook good for 4-6 people. The living area is large and comfortably furnished, with a big TV and gas log fire. The master suite on the lower level is wonderful. The second bedroom and loft area are one floor above the entry/living level and, as other guests have said, you have to come down the stairs to the bathroom which is by the kitchen. Our stay was during the coldest, snowiest week of the winter (fabulous skiing!) - we found that the heating was a bit hard to get right because there is, as far as we could see, only one thermostat for the house and the lower floors were much warmer than the top floor. The parking area out front was always cleared promptly of snow. Overall, a great stay!
Charming and great location
Carol was a fantastic host. She was very accommodating with our check-in/check-out times. The home was well organized and very clean, with all the amenities we could have asked for. The house is a 5 min walk to downtown historic Park City and across the street from a free trolley pick-up. The washer dryer came in very handy after a few days of skiing! Would definitely stay here again!
Park City at its best, just off the bustle of Main Street
Nice house, only down side is lack of bathroom on same level as upstairs bedroom.
Great location, historic dowtown setting
Very nice and comfortable home. Kitchen was great, the lower level master is huge, upstairs sleeping accommodations are adequate if a little limited (smaller spare room and open loft area). More than comfortable though. Overall the home is great and we like staying in unique places that make you feel like a local. This historic home checks all of the marks. Very friendly and helpful owners.
This is the perfect little house for a get away in Park City! The house itself is fantastic, quaint but spacious enough for 6 adults--feels like it has history but has been kept updated, is in excellent condition with a very nice fit and finish. The location can't be beat, right on Main St., just a few steps from the commercial district of Old Town Park City. And Carol, the owner, is extremely hospitable and responsive. Definitely our top choice for future stays!
