Our cottage is a relaxing oasis overlooking the beautiful Porter’s Lake. Located in Lawrencetown Nova Scotia, a small community known for its quiet nature and beautiful ocean beaches, our cottage acts as a home away from home.
You will find our location ideal for exploring or just staying put, depending on how the mood takes you. We are only 30-40 minutes from the big city (Halifax) or just minutes from Lawrencetown Beach.
The Eastern Shore is one of the few areas that has survived unchanged over the years, and the locals are sure to make you feel welcome, as only Maritimers can!
Our beautiful cottage offers something for the whole family, whether it be fishing, boating or swimming on the Porter’s Lake, to hiking, biking and walking the Nova Scotia trails a minute away.

Perfect even in the off season!
This is a cozy lakefront property that can be enjoyed during any season. Equipped for anything, cooking inside or outside, enjoying a fire inside or outside, biking or just relaxing with some movies. Sarah is easy to get in contact with and responds quickly. When they learned that the hot tub would not be operational for our stay (only 2 days before arrival they offered a full refund...we are so glad we didn't take them up in it as the cabin was perfect without it, but don't worry they are having the tub fixed). Lawrencetown pizza and grocery is a must try for pizza and cheese cake... They were open when a lot of other places weren't in our off season visit but we continued to go back even when we had other options!
This little cabin was the best choice to rent as our home base during our first trip to Nova Scotia. Rustic, yet comfortable, this cabin had everything we needed. My husband and I spent 7 nights here, cooking a few dinners and enjoying the sunsets from the hot tub. Morning breakfast and coffee was relaxing as we watched the fog roll off of Porters Lake. We took many day trips including visiting Fishermans Cove, Peggy's Cove, Halifax Distillary, the Maritime Museum, Murphy's Cove, Lawrencetown Beach and Burnt Coat Head to view the tide changes on Bay of Funday. Each day trip was no more than a 1.5 hour drive 1 way. That is what makes this cabin a great location to see so many things. Cape Breton was too far for us to drive (about 4.5 hours), but we are planning a separate trip in the future to visit this area. We met local musicians at the Tuesday evening open mike night at Jamiesons Irish Pub in Cole Harbor (highly recommend dinner here). We bought local lobster in Fishermans Cove and also while driving back from Murphys Cove. PEI Mussels are very cheap to buy in this area, so we purchased a few lbs. of mussels and ate them for dinner one night. Food and liquor stores nearby (no more than a 20 minute drive), just wonderful. We highly recommend renting this cabin from Blaise. His daughter Sarah manages the property for him, very quick at responding to requests. If from the US, pay through PayPal, makes the money exchange easier for the owners. Have fun. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did! ~Becky Altmann, Carter Lansing and Elvis (the adventure dog) from Easton, PA

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks. It was a great cottage to relax in and use as a base for our day trips. Blaise and Elsie were very friendly and always wanted to make sure everything was OK. The weather was cool this time of year, So we didn't use the deck or the yard much. But I can see how wonderful it would be in warmer weather. Everything was well equipped and comfortable.
We stayed @ Lawrencetown Lakefront Cottage and had an amazing time. It's a quite location and the lake and it's one loon inhabitant are just lovely to sit and watch and the sunsets are spectacular! Thank you Blaise and Elsie for sharing your lovely cottage. Beautiful spacious cottage and the bed was comfy!! It's a great place for families with or without children and pets.
We had the pleasure to stay in this amazing cottage for a week and Absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The owner's Elsie and Blaise were very welcoming and made us feel at home. They had available anything you could possibly need and the cottages was far above our expectations. With a canoe at your use, bikes and a lovely hot tub, you couldn't ask for anything more. And so close to the ocean! I only wish I could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back. Also the girls both loved it.This cottage has things to do for all ages!
