Beachwood is a sunny two level newly renovated stylish 4 bedroom beach house with a huge covered deck to take in the great ocean views. The house has two large seperate living areas with timber flooring. Upstairs is the large open plan living, dining, kitchen area that opens onto the large deck. Large bifolding glass doors can open for the full width of the living room which means in good weather the indoor space blends seamlessly to the outdoor area. The outdoor area has a BBQ, huge outdoor dining table and large outdoor lounge. The roof covers the whole deck and each end the sides are enclosed this allows the deck to be used even when it is raining or the wind is up.
There is a brand new kitchen with state of the art SMEG appliances (double oven, dishwasher, fridge with ice/chilled water dispenser). The pantry is fully stocked with most essentials you might need and there is a huge range of cooking utensils, appliances and pots and pans. Basic supplies such as toilet paper, detergent, dishwasher tablets, garbage bags are also all supplied to get you started on your stay.
The house has 4 bedrooms. On the upstairs level there are 2 queen bedrooms one with an en- suite bathroom, the other with an additional single bed. The 3rd bedroom is a bunk room with 2 sets of bunks & 1 single bed, sleeping 5 in total. On the downstairs level there is 1 bedroom with 2 single beds.
Downstairs is the TV area with a large new digital flat screen TV, an indoor table tennis for the kids to play & loads of DVDs and games. The house also has a large collection of current magazines and books for your entertainment. Also downstairs is a second small kitchen and fridge.
The house has 3 bathrooms (including an ensuite off the master bedroom). Note the 3rd bathroom is combined with the laundry and is very old and not yet renovated, though it has a brand new large washing machine and dryer. There is also an outdoor hot shower which is definitely a treat coming back from the beach.
The house is set at quite a distance back from the street and on the high side. This means it always feels very private and quiet. There is a lovely native garden at the front and many hours can be enjoyed on the deck watching birds enjoying it. We also have visiting echidnas and kangaroos. There is off street parking for 3-4 cars.
We love Pambula Beach and we love this home, so all of our renovations and decorations were done so that we would love staying here as much as our guests.
Please note linen (towels & sheets) can be provided for a cost of $20/per person for your entire stay. Each bed has its own doona & pillows and there are loads of spare blankets and throw rugs.
There are so many great things to do in the area.
It is a 3 minute flat level walk to beautiful Pambula Beach and just around the corner from this beach is Lions beach and then the stunning Pambula river mouth which is perfect for little ones to paddle in or to try paddle boarding, kayaking or canoeing. There are also lots of great bush walks, my favourite starts at Pambula Beach and walks over the headland to Lions and on to the river mouth, with stunning views the whole way and lots of nice spots with convenient benches to relax at .
At the end of our road and only a few mins walk is the local Broken Oar cafe which has great coffee, icecreams, hamburgers etc, magazines and newspapers and virtually any supply you would need. Additional supplies can be bought from the local Foodworks at Pambula, just past the top roundabout or at Woolworths in Merimbula. At night there is also a great restaurant onsite serving amazing pizzas & other yummy meals. On the way to the cafe or beach you will definitely pass lots of kangaroos lounging in the sun at the open reserves you will pass by.
Pambula Beach skate park & aquatic centre are a short walk down our road in the other direction. There is also a bike track all the way into Merimbula which is a really fun thing to do and be rewarded with a nice meal in Merimbula before heading back.
There are lots of bushwalking tracks in the adjacent Ben Boyd National Park. Details of these can be found in one of the books for your perusal at the house. Heading towards Pambula town there is also the very special Panboola wetlands which is a lovely place for a stroll or bike ride and you are guaranteed to see a huge variety of water birds.
The area is obviously a Fishermans paradise and to take the kids out prawning is also another fun activity to keep them busy. You can also have an amazing seafood meal at the Wheelers Seafood Restaurant and try Pambula's famous local oysters.
Merimbula is only a 5 min drive away so take the time to explore the great restaurants, cafes, shopping, movies, top fun & magic mountain, which now has a new treetop adventure park.
