Modern, comfy, 2 BR, 1 BA apartment just a few blocks from King Street shopping, restaurants and nightlife district.

The Space:

Our modern, comfy apartment, ‘Saratoga (Suite A)’, is ideal for a small group who want to be close to all the best things to do in downtown Charleston. With two bedrooms and one bathroom, guests can enjoy the utmost in both comfort and privacy. The apartment features:

An open-plan living room and kitchen with a sofa bed for additional guests and a 40-inch HDTV. There is a Queen Sleeper Sofa with linens provided in the Master Bedroom Closet. The kitchen has a large fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and basic cutlery and cooking utensils. There is also a small dining bar.

Two bedrooms both with a queen-size bed. We provide complimentary toiletries and fluffy towels.

The unit also comes with a balcony.

Interaction with Guests:

Our team makes ourselves available to all of our guests throughout their stays at all times!

The Neighborhood:

For great shopping and dining, we recommend walking to the King Street shopping district, just one block away from the apartment. Here you’ll find a variety of great places to eat and shop, including seafood restaurants, cafes, antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques.

Great City Spot for a Stay

While doing college visits, we stopped in Charleston and because of the season, it was difficult to find a hotel so we VBRO'd this spot. Very clean and perfect for 2-4 people, it was a good spot to put our bags down while wandering the city.

A couple of things about this rental. First the communication between the rental company and us was amazing! Never have I stayed in a VBRO where I had so much communication and that was super helpful. You will have a spot in the lot for ONE car, so if you are planning on meeting another couple and staying here, you will need to find street parking for one of the cars. It has a washer and dryer so that made doing laundry a breeze while we stayed which was a huge help after living out of a suitcase for 4 days. The space was clean, comfortable and well kept. Full kitchen, although we really didn't take advantage of it since we were in a city full of amazing food.

Other thoughts. If you are NOT used to staying in a city and are looking for a quiet place at night, this is not your place. It's located by MUSC which is a medical center and helicopters fly in and out of it all day and night long. Same with sirens from the medics going to it. You get used to it quickly but wanted to let people know so that you knew going into the rental that it would have some noise at night. It's on a busy street so you will have car and traffic noise early morning and late evening as well. For us, it didn't matter as we only were there after long days, but it's worth mentioning to avoid someone not knowing and then getting a poor review.

Seating is what you get in the pictures so for a small family or a couple it's perfect. We could walk 25 mins to King Street and to the city attractions so you definitely can walk from this. One review said "it's by nothing" but really, as an out of towner, finding parking in Charleston is a major pain so it's MUCH easier to walk from the spot. You can always Uber or Lyft if you are tired and don't want to walk, which we did twice while we stayed and it wasn't expensive or hard to find drivers. Easy beautiful walk to and from. No worries of being "in danger" or anything of the like

Overall, we'd rent this again if it were just the 3-4 of us. Beds were fine and had more space to be in than in a hotel room.

Great potential. A few minor issues that could be easily addressed.

The property is in an excellent location on the free trolley line. Close to upper King street food and shopping. There were a few minor issues that could be easily addressed for future clients. For example there was no toaster or kitchen towels. The space was large. The beds were very comfortable. It was quiet. I felt very safe. The pool and court yard were lovely. I would note there are many pet owners in the building so if you have allergies, you may want to consider you may have to share an elevator with a very well behaved dog.

Fine, but could have been great.

As frequent users of VRBO we were excited about our vacation in Charleston. Charleston is a wonderful town, full of many fabulous restaurants, activities, and historical sites to see. Upon entering the apartment we were excited to find such a nice place, but we were disappointed that although we contacted both VRBO and the owner more than twice none of our emails, or phone calls resulted in calls back or help with our problem. The description of the property listed there was a coffee maker, but there wasn't one. This is a big problem when three of the people staying there must have coffee in the morning. Secondly, the beds did not have mattress pads which made for an uncomfortable sleeping situation. We called several times to both Home Away and the owner to no avail. Every response that came back you could tell was an automatic generated response. Had these two things been resolved the stay would have been much better. We were also asked to wash the towels before we left, but there wasn't any detergent to do so. We bought some to do the towels. We are hopeful these things will be resolved for the next group staying in Charleston.

Dissapointing

Location not really known upon rental and is not close to anything except highway, communication for rental was not responsive after paying for. Learned a lesson on this one.

Owner's Response: We're so very sorry you have not enjoyed your stay. We're very surprised given its a new unit over looking the pool and we have had nothing but great feedback there. There is no highway near this rental. In fact the highway is 8 blocks from this rental. Are you sure you stayed with us at this rental? We have people on call 24/7 and did not receive a call or text from you during your stay. Our response time on our concierge line is always within 5 minutes via text and instant if you call us. Did you not read your access instructions or the welcome notes when walking in? We hope that you will return so that we can ensure a perfect stay for you next time. Safe travels home and we hope to see you again in the future!

Great Property!!!

This is a really convenient mid-town location with a lot of amenities to boot! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. Our host was super communicative and very accommodating!
