Why James Marks chose Clyde
30-40 minutes to Asheville, Biltmore House, Cherokee casino; 15 minutes to ski slopes, hiking trails, fishing, boating, and Blue Ridge Parkway
What makes this Villa unique
When in the mountains it's nice to feel secluded (like you are 30 minutes from civilization) without being that far from the grocery store. That's why Life Cove only has a couple of homes in the wooded/ pastoral cove yet just a 4-6 of minutes from shopping, hospital, restaurants, lakes and interstate. Day tripping to nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, waterfalls, Biltmore House, Dollywood ( Pigeon Forge), skiing, hiking, Asheville( the arts capital of the South), steam engine locomotive trips, white water rafting/kayaking just to mention a few are short distances away. Or just sipping some hot cocoa on the porch swing first thing in the morning or soaking in the adult only Hot Tub with someone you love. The BEST OF BOTH WORLD'S await vacationer's in this location of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The Perfect Experience!
Every year, for the past 12 years, I attend our annual conference at Lake Junaluska and every year I search for the "perfect place" to stay while attending the week-long conference. My search has come to an end after staying in this Villa in Clyde, NC! This was the absolute perfect place to stay, as super convenient to Lake Junaluska, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. The Villa was spotlessly clean with all the amenities of home, and luxuries of 5 Star Resort, without the cost of a 5 Star Resort! The owners were more than accommodating and were the epitome of hospitality, complete with homemade cookies waiting for us upon our arrival. We WILL be back!!
Great place to stay!
I am from the area and this was a great location for us to be close to family, but still have a place that we could escape to at night. It was very nicely furnished and clean. The owners even had homemade cookies waiting for us when we got there!
Not exactly what I expected
We had a girls getaway weekend, so one thing we were really excited about was the hot tub. There was even an exchange with the owner regarding it. I realized too late that it was a hot tub for both villas, but that worked out okay because even if the other villa was occupied, we didn't see anyone. As a previous reviewer stated, the hot tub wasn't as clean as we would have liked but we decided to try it anyway and shower after. Unfortunately, the jets worked for maybe a minute before they stopped working. I reached out and the owner stopped by (very nice guy, by the way) and said he would work on it. I received a text later that night indicating it was working and should be up to temp by the next evening. (Perfect as we would be out and about in the morning). We got back the next evening and the jets worked for only a minute or so before stopping. As the hot tub was a large reason we chose this location, it was disappointing. Additionally, the shower jets didn't work and the massage feature on the recliners didn't work. Not a big deal to us as that didn't factor into the decision to stay here, but disappointing nonetheless. Lastly, the setting wasn't what I envisioned. I assumed, incorrectly, that this was somewhat remote with a fair amount of trees and foliage. That was never indicated in the listing, so it was my mistake, but it was not the remote villa in the woods I had envisioned. Overall, it was okay, but I doubt we'll be back.
We loved North Carolina!
We were a little disappointed with the villa. We chose to not use the hot tub because of uncleanliness. The Villa wasn’t real clean either. It did give us a comfortable bed to sleep in and area to lounge around in .
We want to thank this guest for their review. It is totally unacceptable do not have the cleanest freshest Villas possible. We have reviewed our standards with our housekeeper and and an unclean Villa will not be on another review.
Enjoyable place to rest
Overall, the villa was wonderful! However, both bathrooms could have used some additional cleaning. There was dirt and hair in the showers and around the sinks. We remembered them being cleaner last year when we stayed with you.
Otherwise it was wonderful! Thank you!
Not having the cleanest villas is totally unacceptable and steps have been taken to correct any future problems. I want to thank our guests for bringing it to our attention.
They have a wonderful place here. It has been recently renovated with modern appliances. Steam shower and hot tub. A great central location for skiing at Cataloochee or access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Hiking.
