THE REMODEL INCLUDES AN ALL NEW KITCHEN, BATHROOMS, ZONED AIR CONDITIONING, FURNISHINGS, FLOORING, POWERED BLINDS, BEDDING, KITCHENWARE-- THE WORKS! IN APRIL 2017 WE ADDED AMENITIES SUCH AS NEW ART, AREA RUGS, NEW LANAI FURNITURE, DECORATIONS, ETC. WE HAVE A SUPERIOR 5* OCEANFRONT VIEW AND OUR REMODEL IS EQUALLY AS SPECTACULAR!
We have one of the best located beachfront condos in the entire resort- 25 feet from the beach on the 4th floor. Our corner unit's 180 degree ocean view captures both Lanai and Moloka'i islands. This is a huge oceanfront corner unit (total 2001 sq.ft. including the lanai's) with extra high ceilings. The condo has two lanai's to enjoy the sounds of the ocean, the warm Kahana days and nights, and the beautiful sunsets and views. See turtles and whales spouting right from the condo!
Only these corner units have view windows in every room and bathroom, with every window looking out on ocean, beach, sand and palm trees. Plus, our corner is a prime location in the entire complex. Both Master Bedrooms have spectacular views and open to separate lanai's. The front Master opens up to the front lanai with a gorgeous view. The second Master Bedroom has a full wall window looking out to Lanai island and it opens up to a second lanai, both with picture-worthy views (only the corner units at this resort have windows in the second Master bedroom and second bath, and have a second Lanai). Soak in the front Master bath's tub or enjoy the second Master bath's shower- both while looking out over the ocean. Both showers have two shower heads, each with separate valve control. The front master shower has a separate "rainfall" head in the ceiling. Even with all of the windows, this unit is well situated to maximize privacy.
Our beach is much less crowded than so many of the other west side beaches. There's lots of sand and sun only a few feet from our building. On the south side of the beach there is an area where we daily see and swim with turtles. We often see turtles on the beach here.
The Sands of Kahana is a well maintained resort and has beautiful grounds. It has an on-site restaurant and bar overlooking the pool and hot tub, and out to the beach. There are also lighted tennis courts and basketball court, and putting green. Multiple BBQ grills are on the grounds.
It's an easy one to three block walk to local shopping, groceries and restaurants including the Maui Brewing Company. Kaanapali, Lahaina and Kapalua are less than 10 minutes away.
Sands of Kahana 243 is our home away from home, and we live here quite a lot throughout the year. It is well maintained. You will find it's set up with everything you need for a enjoyable stay and more. This very comfortable condo leaves lots of room to stretch out and enjoy your Maui paradise! Our decor has a relaxed 'Island feel'.

OMG! This location was absolutely amazing!!! The view was simply break taking!! The condo was updated and very lovely. Very spacious! We were almost late to our Whale Watching excursion because we were standing on the lanai watching the whales right outside our room. I would highly recommend this location and when we return to Maui, we plan to book the same room.
Gorgeous, lovely, HUGE condo
This condo is perfect and the view from the 4th floor lanai is unparalleled. We have stayed in many of the privately owned units at Sands of Kahana and this unit is by far the loveliest. The master bath/shower is HUGE with three shower heads and of course that incredible view of the ocean as you shower !! There is also a separate bath tub. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has all manner of pots, pans, baking sheets etc. The remodel has been done with such class and taste. The furnishings are beautiful (dining room table, chairs, dressers etc). The wood sliding doors in the master bedroom and the doors into the bath area are gorgeous. We loved the electric blinds...perfect as they afford darkness at night, but during the day there is no curtain to obstruct the stunning view of Molokai and the ocean. The lanai is perfect for watching whales....sunsets and rainbows.
Suggestions for dining include MaMa's Fish House in Paia, Sansei in Kapalua, Merriman's Bay Club (Kapalua), Pacific 'O (Lahaina) as well as O'Farm (upcountry ). For beaches we're very fond of Kapalua (snorkeling) and DT Fleming (boogie boarding). We had a fun sunset whale watch on the Hula Girl (good food too).
We love Maui and will be back next year ...to this unit !!
The management company also rates a very good review, as they have been excellent in providing clear communications, timely reminders etc.

Just got home from our 8th consecutive winter in Maui! We like to rent places in different resort areas to have varied experiences. This is a perfect condo for two couples or family! Very spacious, well appointed, directly above the ocean, amazing views the second you walk in the door. Whales right off the balcony. We were lucky enough to see a pod of spinner dolphins parade by. We couldn't be happier with our decision to stay here! We spent 10 nights in the condo. We never spent time in the living room, as the action was on the lanai. We also never used the kitchen more than coffee in the morning. You can walk to a few restaurants i.e. Maui Brewing, Sushi, Dollie's Pizza. Walking distance to General Whaler for all your supplies. The restaurant on property, Beach House, was very good! great happy hours, breakfast, etc. We had a jeep, but found it easier to uber or taxi to and from Old Lahaina and Kaanapali. You still need a car to travel around the island. Great stay, highly recommend!

This unit is truly amazing. We do a lot of research before renting and we tend to be very picky about the places we stay. Unit 243 at the Sands of Kahana exceeded our highest expectations. We actually concluded that this is the nicest VRBO that we have ever rented. The unit has been remodeled and the workmanship of the remodel is top notch. From the beautifully tiled floors to the very large showers with multiple shower heads to the modern fully-equipped kitchen, this unit would please the most discriminate visitor. The unit itself is huge by 2 bedroom condo standards. We had 4 adults and two children in the condo and we had more than enough space to be very comfortable. The floor plan was a nice surprise to us, also. Both bedrooms are spacious and very private. The icing on the cake is that each bedroom has its own private balcony. Due to the location of the unit within the building, there is privacy at every window - no other units looks into 243. An elevator ride to the first floor puts you at the pool, the bar/restaurant, and right on the swimmable beach. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you could possibly need and the quality of the appliances and cookware is top of the line. I could go on and on but suffice to say, I would never rent another unit other than this one whenever I return to Maui. In fact, if the owner ever sells this unit, I would be the first in line to buy it.

Beautiful condo with an equally beautiful view.
We thoroughly enjoyed the view. The condo was very spacious, newly updated and clean.
This is a resort in a part of Maui that has an intimate beach town feel. There are many local businesses within walking distance. Also nearby are local and farmers markets. This place is great for all beach and ocean activities, for use as a base of operations for daily trips, or just a beautiful place to hang out. Napili Beach and Kapalua beaches are only 6 to 7 minutes drive down coastal Lower Honoapiilani Road. Lahaina is also only a few minutes away. We (the owners) wanted a second home in a resort that was comfortable, convenient, and well maintained. We also wanted the 'resort' amenities than many of the other condos do not provide, without compromising the beach town feel. The Sands of Kahana has beautiful and well maintained grounds, a restaurant, bar, two pools, hot tub, putting green, tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, and is right on the beach. With all this, you do not feel like you are in one of those impersonal large developments. When we first saw this particular condo, we recognized immediately that the location was unique. The positioning of this corner unit provides incredible views of Kahana Beach, the ocean, and the two islands of Lanai and Moloka'i. Each room (and the bathrooms!) all have views of the ocean. This unit has much more privacy than most, as there are almost no sight lines from any other buildings into the unit. We think we have the best located unit in the entire resort. How could anyone not want to enjoy this slice of paradise?
