nice and quiet somewhat comparing to being on the corner behind the store fishing ponds great stream
Wonderful owner, very clean property, convenient location!
My fiance and I really enjoyed our weekend getaway here! The cabin is so cute and smells so good when you walk in just like a cabin should. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed dinner on the grill both nights (bring charcoal) and our second nights dinner was caught in the trout pond right in front of the cabin. It was a fun experience. Both mornings I enjoyed coffee sitting in the rocking chair on the back porch which faces the creek. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The owner was very kind; welcomed us upon arrival and stopped to chat when he saw us out fishing. The only bummer was the fire pit wasn't cleaned out, it had a huge log in it so we weren't able to have a little bonfire. Otherwise, we loved every minute and would definitely come back!
Wonderful place to relax and unwind
Mr. Ferguson is a great host along with all the nice people who work at the general store in front of the cabin. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm smiles and amazing hospitality. The cabin had plenty of room for our family of four, my daughter was not able to make it, if she could've the cabin is plenty spacious enough to accommodate her.The boys sleep up in the loft and thought that was the coolest. The general store serves breakfast and lunch items off the menu. You can order ahead and have it waiting on you.Once we got unpacked the first adventure was the loaded trout pound, both boys had a ball and caught several trout for dinner that night. The next day we got directions from Mr.Ferguson on a country route to Max Patch and Cataloochee. He did not disappoint, but be ready to travel several miles on a winding dirt road. Its worth the drive for the one spot he will tell you about, you can look down on I-40 from about 1000 feet up. Just be careful, I promise you will become a tree hugger. Max Patch was good , just alot of workers on the mountain that day, Cataloochee was perfect , saw at least 30 elk grazing and relaxing. Also make sure you tour the history of the Cataloochee. After our long day ,it was raining when we got back to the cabin so we got to enjoy the rain hitting the roof and the rushing creek. We had the bedroom door open the sounds from the creek filled the entire cabin. Both mornings I woke up early to enjoy the creek and at night with all the lights off. We did not want to leave, the next trip we are going to stay a few extra days to truly soak in the area. One last thing, its an easy ride to G-Burg from the cabin and Hot Springs.
Great place to relax
Cute cabin. Grandson enjoyed fishing from the pond and I really loved the back porch with the creek. Very relaxing place with great neighbors. Located behind a general store which serves breakfast and lunch, it's really good. Cant wait to come back this summer and really enjoy that creek on a real hot day.
Cute cabin with a very accommodating owner
This cabin is small but has everything a couple needs to be comfortable. It's not fancy, but very cute and the sound of the stream behind it is lovely. Communication with the owner, Mr. Ferguson, was always quick, easy, and pleasant. We didn't have cell service at the cabin (AT&T) but that was great for us. Would definitely stay again!
