About the property

This idyllic getaway has the absolute best view of any other condo in the complex! It's a perfect place for family vacations, weddings and honeymoons. Spend your evenings lounging on the Lanai, watching the sunset along the Anini reef or relax inside on the punee (Hawaiian day bed). Surrounded by windows, the punee gives you a full 270 degree panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, the Kilauea Lighthouse and distant mountains. This is also a perfect spot for whale watching. Nothing beats falling asleep to the sound of the waves - There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms located on separate levels, both with ocean views. The first level bedroom has a queen size bed along with a large walk in closet, bathroom, and shower tub. Up the stairs on the second level is another bedroom which includes two twin beds also with a walk in closet, bathroom, and shower tub.

Our well maintained Kauai condominium offers all the amenities you would expect from a cozy and comfortable vacation rental plus all the allure and romance of the Hawaiian Islands. It is the prime end unit located on the second floor of the J Building in the Sealodge II complex situated on the scenic Princeville ocean bluffs. It has a fully furnished kitchen which has recently been updated with granite countertops and stainless appliances including a dishwasher, washer/dryer, wifi internet, TV, DVD player, and a small assortment of beach supplies. There is also a pool for SeaLodge guests only.

About Elizabeth Palin

My name is Elizabeth Palin, and I live in Northern California.

Elizabeth Palin purchased this condo in 1976

Why Elizabeth Palin chose Princeville

My father was the very first buyer during the SeaLodge ll building stage. He was able to purchase the "pick of the litter" condominium, with the absolute BEST view being located on the prime end of the complex.

He chose this upstairs unit, not only for its beauty and privacy, but the stunning location in comparison to the other condos. It has been passed down to me, and and I like to refer to J-7 as Heaven On Earth. I just listed my condo on VRBO in September of 2016. Many of my guests are repeat visitors that come every year, some for decades!

What makes this condo unique

The Hawaiian Day bed is a beautiful focal point in J-7. The 270 degree view cannot be described by photos. It's absolutely breathtaking! I've been told by many people that it's the best view from the north shore on Kauai.

Adventure of a Lifetime in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Seal Lodge J-7 is situated high above the water on the North Shore of Kauai with a totally unobstructed view of the ocean. Not just while standing on the covered lanai or sitting on the day bed (shown in the photo), but also while lying in bed as we awakened in the morning.

I don't think it gets much better! Very private, spacious, comfortable, well maintained, and equipped with many extra amenities to make guests' stays perfect.

With respect to our "host", I truly do not feel that I can ever adequately express our gratitude to Elizabeth, J-7's owner. She graciously assisted us the first night in gaining access to her condo even though it was 11:30 PM. But it doesn't stop there. During our stay, a record setting tropical storm dropped more than 28 inches of rain in a 24 hour period. When we contacted Elizabeth regarding minor water leakage during periods of intense rainfall (3-4 inches per hour), she had Don (her primary maintenance person) respond to help. When we departed to leave for our next destination, we inadvertently left behind one of our smaller bags which contained medications. Once again, Elizabeth came to our rescue by putting us in direct contact with Don who was kind enough to FedEx our "missing" bag to us on the Big Island.

The tropical storm that hit the island during our stay provided some truly amazing stories for us to share with others. However it was obvious that the storm (and its significant damage) prevented us from truly experiencing the true beauty of Kauai. Therefore, we do plan to return and will most certainly plan to stay at J-7 again so we can see paradise as it was meant to be seen.

Wonderful place! The views/location are worth the stay alone!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at the Sealodge J7 and would definitely stay there again!!! As it mentions in the listing, J7 is a corner unit which means that your view facing east is uninterrupted. Complimenting the view is a very well-situated daybed, perfect for taking in the view at any time of day. The north/ocean facing deck only adds to the value.

The property is well-stocked and everything listed is as promised. There is no a/c, per Kauai norm, but the large windows let in more than enough of the ocean breeze to cool down the place. The location is wonderful - it's very close to Hanalei Bay and all of the nearby beaches.

Our only "complaint" would be of the quality of sheets and towels. This might sound like a trivial thing, but if you're dealing with a hot sun/sunburn all week, as it seems like most people in Kauai are, soft bedroom sheets and large bathroom towels would be a huge addition.

Hope you enjoy the place as much as we did!

A wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Sealodge J7. We were a family of 4 with 2 children 9 and 12. The unit was comfortable, spacious, and the views from it are breathtaking! We used the kitchen to cook several meals and enjoyed them on the lanai overlooking the ocean. I was a little concerned upon booking with the lack of air conditioning but being on the top floor we were able to keep windows open where we could hear the sound of the ocean and occasional shower passing through.....the tradewinds kept us nice and cool and it was just so peaceful. Our boys enjoyed the boogie boards at Annini Beach and Hanalei. We were a little bummed that the roads were closed pass Hanalei due to the recent storm. But something to explore next time. We did walk down to Sealodge Beach but the hike itself was a little sketchy as the ground was slippery and narrow at some spots. Also if you go down make sure to put on bug spray.... mosquitos galore! We used the pool a few times. It is sufficient and the view from it is beautiful! Having a washer and dryer was also a plus! Location was perfect as the unit was close to shopping and all that Princeville has to offer. Beth was really easy to work with and so accommodating as she let us check in a little earlier than check in time. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Sealodge J7. Thank you, Beth, for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us! Look forward to our return trip!

One of best locations on Kauai - views to die for ! Wonderful responsive owner

  • 5 of 5

We stay in Hawaii a lot at various islands and although there was a horrid flood and polluted beaches and impassable roads as a result which seriously curtailed our vacation in this May 2018 - still I must strongly unreservedly recommend J7 of Sea Lodge as value for $ and comfort plus beauty , ease of relationship with owner , fantastic views from living area , well laid out and supplied, and overall fine quallity of place and experience ...

Go and enjoy even if the weather conspires against you - still you'll love it !

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We came here for our honeymoon and after we heard about all of the rain we were really nervous we wouldn't be able to do all that we wanted. Eventhough some of the roads and hiking trails to the west were closed there was so much to do in the area it made it so that we could see it all. Waking up to the most amazing view for sunrise from the giant windows started every day off perfectly. You have to go to Sealodge beach when staying here even if it is hard to find. Queen's Bath and Hideaways are a must too. We couldn't have asked for a better way to start our life together than in paradise at this great condo.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Sealodge J7. The pictures from the corner window truly do not do it justice! The view was amazing and we enjoyed the sunset and sunrise everyday. The unit had everything we needed (fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, etc) and wanted (lots of beach/ocean equipment). The unit was clean, extremely quiet, and Elizabeth (The owner) was great to work with! It truly felt like a home away from home.

Our only regret is that we stayed for only 3 nights! We would have loved to stay a lot longer. Thank you!!
