Why Charles Ward chose Bay Saint Louis
This home is a multi-generational property originally purchased by the current owners' grandparents, Thelma and Harry Beyer. This property has been a gathering place with many fond memories ever since. Passed from generation to generation, Charles and Harry Ward owned the home prior to Katrina. Harry lovingly renovated this early 1900's home where he lived with his wife Jamie and young daughter Renee. As was the case for many houses so close to the Gulf of Mexico, Katrina left only the steps to this home and a few small treasures special to this family to this day. Harry and his family relocated to Nevada after the storm and Charles and their sister Ruth Petras decided to rebuild. With so many memories growing up from children to young adults they wanted to build the home to make those memories possible for generations to come. The home was rebuilt late in 2011 and has been a place where many shrimp have been fried, storms enjoyed with our tin roof and sunsets appreciated from our porches. Today it is referred to as the Petras-Ward House.

This home is beautiful! Had everything our big family needed and then some. Charles went out of his way to insure we had all we needed. Thank you Charles for a sharing your wonderful beach house! We have already made reservations for next year.
Relaxing and comfy family beach vacation!
The house was beautiful and had plenty of space. The comfy couch and chairs in the family room got lots of use. The crew enjoyed playing the many board games available. The large outdoor area under the house was a plus. It was a short walk to the beach and quaint downtown art and restaurant area. We enjoyed walking and shopping on Main St. We recommend checking out Buccaneer State Park. BSL is definitely becoming a family favorite!
We were in BSL for a high school reunion and rented this home with several others. Great house! Everyone had their own bathroom. Front porch was our favorite spot for coffee, conversation, & happy hour. Owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome with coffee, snacks, breakfast food available for us. Highly recommend this home.
Perfect House for Jeepin the Coast
This house was perfect for four couples with six Jeeps. Plenty of room and excellent decor inside and out and only one block from the beach. The owner was very accommodating to our request to park on the grass. Fresh milk and orange juice was in the refrigerator when we arrived along with fresh bread, chips, popcorn and candy. It was a welcome surprise and a very nice personal touch. The house had everything you need and then some. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were top notch. Our favorite part of the house was downstairs. Lots of room to relax with friends after a long day of riding in the hot sun. We made some great memories with our friends while staying at this house. Bay St Louis is a beautiful town and we look forward to staying in this house again next year. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
Came to Bay St Louis because we needed to check MS off our “bucket list of all 50 states” for my dad. Had no clue about the town, or really anything about MS (we live in PA). The house, the town, everything was wonderful! If it wasn’t so far away, we’d come back all the time. The house was perfect for families- had all the beach stuff you could ever need, a great golf cart, and amenities anyone with kids would appreciate. My kids loved using the golf cart to go into town. The house was super clean and well cared for. Owners were fast to respond to queries and checked in on us via text/email to make sure there were no issues. You could easily walk to the beach at the end of the road. The town has cute shops and restaurants. Lots of fun things to do nearby including the Infinity Space Center and Ocean Adventures in Gulfport. Can’t recommend it enough!
Great location-close to beach. Lots of space for relaxing.
The property was in a great location (quick walk to beach and short drive to old town). It was clean, well maintained, and well stocked inside and out. Lots of areas outside to sit, relax, read, listen to the birds or bird watch (One section of porch is screened). We didn’t cook or use the kitchen but it was nice and big. Hope to return in the future.
