About Jon Whittemore
My name is Jon Whittemore. My wife and I grew up in Forney, TX, just 30 east of Dallas. I'm a retired school superintendent and my wife, Marion, is a retired teacher and school librarian. We have two sons, Joseph, age 26, and Ben, age 16. Our family is active in Wellspring United Methodist Church here in Georgetown. Ben attends Georgetown High School, where he plays soccer and runs cross country and Joseph works at Dept of Public Safety in Austin. Three years ago, our family retired to Georgetown because of its beautiful geography, its friendly and helpful people, and its excellent schools. It's the best move we ever made.
Jon Whittemore purchased this House in 2016
Why Jon Whittemore chose Georgetown
We chose this property as a rental vacation home not only because of all that Georgetown has to offer with its beautiful outdoors and being the home of Southwestern University, but also for of its proximity to Austin and Round Rock. Whether you're visiting the area for a family reunion, a sporting event at UT, or one of the area's many festivals, you cannot beat staying in our rental home in Georgetown.
What makes this House unique
Our rental home is just a short 3 block walk from the historic Georgetown square, the amazing public library, Palace Theater, Southwestern Univ., many shops and restaurants, Blue Hole lagoon, and 9 miles of trails through San Gabriel Park. And it's only minutes away from I-35. You won't find a vacation rental home in Georgetown more centrally located to everything you need. Why spend 3x the money to stay in Austin, when you can spend a fraction of the cost and spend time with us in Georgetown?

Very comfortable, clean, convenient and Jon was a very personable host.
Recently remodeled into a comfortable, functional home. We enjoyed the convenient location just a few block walk to the town square.
Jon was very helpful introducing the home to us as well as familiarizing us with the local restaurants etc.
So nice to have living room and kitchen. Very clean. Bed in 2nd bedroom too hard for my taste, but I slept well anyway.
We're very happy that you and your sister enjoyed your stay in our vacation rental in Georgetown. Thanks again for staying with us and please come see us again. God bless you!

Old Georgetown delight
Clean and modern, short walk to the river and restaurants. Well stocked!
The only thing I would add would be clothes hooks in the bathroom.
A great house in a quiet location
My husband and I very much enjoyed our 3 month stay in this bright and cheery house. The bathroom is a good size with a great shower. The queen mattress is VERY comfortable, the closets are roomy. The kitchen is spacious with lots of counter area, and well equipped for basic cooking. The floors are new tile throughout the house. The deck outside is perfect for catching the winter sun. Parking is off street. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to everywhere you’d want to go downtown. I don’t think you could go wrong booking this house for either a long or short stay. We were very satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Early on we had one problem with the microwave, but the owners were there immediately to get it fixed and were always available should anything need their attention. All in all, it was a good stay.
Dear Anne and Gary,
It was such a pleasure having you both in our vacation rental home these past several months. We're very glad you all felt comfortable and enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking care of the home as though it were your own. Please come see us again if you're ever in this part of Texas!
God bless you,
Jon and Marion
Great location, cosy, comfortable house.
We stayed here for two weeks over Christmas whilst visiting family. The house is super cute, clean and very comfortable. Jon and Marion were great hosts, explaining how everything worked and answering my one query within minutes. Will definitely be in touch next time we visit Georgetown.
Dear Gill - Thank you so much for staying with us the past 2 weeks. We're so happy our home was the perfect place for you while in Texas and we look forward to seeing you again one day. God bless and Happy New Year,
Jon and Marion
