About Michele Palatas
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I moved to Alaska in 1998 to work in Deadhorse-Prudhoe Bay, in the Arctic on the Beaufort Sea. I quickly became enchanted with this beautiful place we call Alaska! If you love the outdoors, this is the place!
Michele Palatas purchased this House in 2002
Why Michele Palatas chose Fairview
I purchased this duplex in 2002 along with two more, and made four of the units, fully furnished guesthouses. You may rent both the Cottage and the Cabin (3584196) if you require more room. Since then I have had the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world to our city nestled between Cook Inlet and the Chugach Mountains.
What makes this House unique
The convenience of being near to downtown and midtown, the Seward Highway heading south and the Glenn Highway heading north, make this a perfect location to get out and experience Anchorage and nearby attractions.

Small, well-kept, comfortable cottage.
This small cottage was exactly as described. It was well appointed, very clean, very comfortable, and easy to find with the directions that were provided. It was perfect for the two of us. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who wanted a quiet hiding spot in Anchorage.
Thank you for your charming review! And for your patronage!
Kind regards, Michele.
Best place to stay in anchorage!
I love staying at the cottage - it’s the perfect location close to everything good in Anchorage. Everything you need is already here - just bring toiletries. Will be spending all my Anchorage visits here if possible.
Thank you Melissa for your lovely review! It is my pleasure having you at the Cottage and Anchorage Guesthouses!
Looking forward to having you return.
Warm regards, Michele.
The Cottage is a lovely getaway in Anchorage
I spent a week in Michelle’s carefully and lovingly appointed cottage the first week in November and it was so nice I cancelled my hotel for the following weeks conference and stayed with Michelle for the next week. Everything you could possibly need is there. It has a tiny but well appointed kitchen and many kitchen extras were left behind by prior travelers. It’s the perfect size for one traveler and maybe s couple. Michelle was readily available to address any questions. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your lovely review! It is always my pleasure to make your stay as comfortable as possible!
Looking forward to having you return to Anchorage Guesthouses when coming to Anchorage!
Enjoy the holidays!
Clean & comfortable ♡
Cozy cottage in a quiet neighborhood! Love how well stocked the kitchen was. Great location with a wonderful bakery right down the street (Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop!). We had a really nice stay here!
Wonderful! Thank you for the lovely review! I hope to have you return to one of my Anchorage Guesthouses when visiting town.
Kind regards, Michele.
Unit was as pictured and as described. It was easy to get to and a perfect place to end our 10 day vacation. The kitchen was well equipped and the extra fridge and pantry items came in handy. The washer and dryer was a nice feature as well. Unit was clean comfortable and the extra touches were thoughtful.
Thank you for your stay at Anchorage Guest Houses and The Cottage! And thank you for your lovely review!
Cute and cozy
Place is perfect! We had a great time. Nice neat and clean.
My pleasure having you at the Cottage Guesthouse! Thank you for your generous review! And your patronage!
The Cottage GuestHouse is conveniently located in the Fairview District, just between downtown and midtown. The view to the east is the vast Chugach Mountain Range, and to the west, one mile to downtown Anchorage and Cook Inlet. Nearby is New Sagaya City Market, Europa Bakery and Kaladi Brothers Cafe.
Close to shopping, bus lines, restaurants, cultural attractions. Anchorage boasts the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, great restaurants, namely Glacier Brewhouse, Orso, Sacks, Simon and Seafort's, Crush, offering fresh fish caught in Alaska waters and vegetables grown in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley. And my favorite breakfast at Snow City Cafe!
Ski: A drive thirty minutes south on one of the most beautiful drives in the world, will take you to Alyeska Resort and the best skiing in and around southcentral Alaska!
