About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Come check out charming Idyllwild from this dog-friendly vacation rental for six!

Set just far enough from the main hub of town to feel quiet and private, but close enough to have enjoy dining out and shopping for souvenirs within a short drive, everyone will love the location. Plus, this home backs up to beautiful Foster Lake Meadow and views of Lily Rock can be seen from the nice back patio.

The rustic interior bursts with character and has an open living room, kitchen, and dining area for entertaining the entire group. Settle onto the sofa or chair and warm your toes by the fire while catching a movie or show on the flatscreen TV (Blu-ray player attached).

All six guests can take a seat around the dining table inside, though you could take your plates out to the patio to breathe in the fresh mountain air while diving into a delicious home-cooked meal prepared right in the full kitchen. All you'll need to bring along are fresh ingredients as major and small appliances (coffeemaker, coffee grinder, blender, toaster, microwave, and more) are included.

This wonderful cabin has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each room boasts a king-size bed, and the living room has a sofabed so each of the six travelers has a place to sleep each night.

More great amenities include a washer and dryer, WiFi, and a dog-friendly location. Just keep in mind there is a weight limit of 25 pounds, as well as a nightly pet fee.

Leash up the dog and strap on your hiking boots to explore what used to be Foster Lake just behind the house. Deer Springs hiking trail is nearby, and the Idyllwild Nature Center is a short drive away for an educational and fun afternoon. Go rock climbing at Lily Rock, bike around town, or get dressed up and head out to a delicious dinner at Gastrognome.

Book this dog-friendly home now and enjoy a relaxing, nature-filled California vacation.

About Vacasa, CA - Morongo Basin Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Cozy, furnishings a plus, quiet, beds not great

 • 5 of 5

Located a bit from downtown, a perfect quiet getaway. We loved the cabin location, and decorative accessories such as the furniture,: plank dining table, coffee table, and clock, along with a reproduction Native American war shirt.

The beds and linerns need replacing in order to give this peaceful place an A+. Also the magenemant company asks quests for a pre- clean up, along with taking a cleaning fee... that's a real turn off.

Overall this place deserves a strong B.

Cozy cabin

 • 5 of 5

Fabulous location, quiet and peaceful. Rustic cabin with appropriate decoration, log cabin style furnishings, native American decoration. We took a four and eight year old, they loved it!

The overall house was nice... but

 • 3 of 5

The overall house was nice and clean. The views are nice and the cabin is well appointed. We had a few issues though. The main bedroom was missing the smoke detector. The wires were hanging down with no detector. This was a bit annoying since there is high fire danger. Also the cabin comes with a pull out couch, but the only sheet we had was the fitted sheet, no flat sheet. Yuk!! Another issue we had were sticky mouse traps were around the inside of the house, those are the worst kind of traps because they don’t actually kill the mouse. What are we supposed to do if we do get a rodent!!!!! Not to mention they shouldn’t be there with kids and pets to accidentally get into. Lastly the shower in the 2nd bathroom only had scolding hot water. When you tried to turn on the cold water nothing would happen.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to see there were a few issues and disappointments with this stay, and we appreciate being informed of them. The smoke detector has been replaced, the glue traps have been removed, and we have left extra sheets for the pullout. Thank you!

Overall the cabin was comfortable and nice with nice views.

 • 3 of 5

The cabin was nice overall. It was well appointed and clean and comfortable. The things we didn’t like were that the master bedroom was missing the smoke alarm, this was disturbing since it’s high fire season. The other problem we had was that the 2nd bathroom shower had no cold water, only scolding hot water. The actual knob just spun and did nothing. The pull out couch had only a fitted sheet and no flat sheet. The beds themselves were not comfortable and felt like sleeping on a rock. There were sticky mouse traps around the house, which shouldn’t be there if there are kids and pets staying.

Spacious with a beautiful view

 • 5 of 5

Very clean with a living room and dining room kitchen and deck to a beautiful view. Everything we needed was available and the location was very close to the nature preserve where we took some really nice hikes. Also very close to town. So much to love about this cabin and the location
