About Julie Bacon
My first loves have always been travel and the outdoors. Working for the State of MI, I was determined to make my way north and in 1986 convinced a wonderful woman to hire me in a job as an Adult Foster Care Licensing Consultant. So, I made my way north and lived in this condo until 2007, when I decided to spend more time in the Dordogne area of France, where I own a small home. While I now spend a fair amount of time in France/Europe, my heart and home is still Harbor Springs, and I will return there some day. In the meantime if I can share this condo with others and earn some "traveling money" that works well for me. While I have the opportunity to do so, I am determined to still put on my backpack and boots and explore the world!

Why Julie Bacon chose Harbor Springs
This condo is wonderful. I have lived there for some 30 years and still consider it my "home". It is surprisingly quiet for being located in the heart of the downtown and I think that is because the living/dining/porch areas are all on the rear side of the condo (north side). The courtyard is truly magical and during the summer the fountain is singing it's magical notes and the amazing flowers everywhere. I have entertained extensively on the covered back deck; everyone always has a fabulous time. It is a very special place with great energy. Another bonus is the custom jewelry store run by my brother, which is in the courtyard, along with a fabulous masseuse in the adjoining commercial building.
What makes this Condo unique
Being downtown definitely has it's benefits. Restaurants are so close and you can easily find your way home after having a few wonderful glasses of wine and a great dinner. The new theatre is almost next door and it promises to entertain us with wonderful movies and productions. The water is 5 minutes away, and two public beaches less than 10. Walking the docks at night, ice cream in hand, is a very special treat. It's a fabulous, calm, tranquil and very special environment!

Beautiful cozy space right in the heart of Harbor Springs on Main Street.
I had a fantastic stay and hope to return. Highly recommended.
Thanks so much for your great review. I know that I have always loved my condo and am thrilled that I can now share it with other travelers. The convenience of being right downtown, yet having a relatively quiet space is really fabulous. Julie
Great spot in the heart of Harbor Springs
Location, location, location! Outstanding outdoor space. Incredibly responsive owner. Would stay again.
Thanks so much for the wonderful review. So great to have tenants like you - you are welcome to come back any time!
An absolute Gem
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our month stay. From the moment you wake and have your coffee on the porch, surrounded by a beautiful array of summer flowers and a fountain that makes the outdoor space a great getaway, it was easy to make this our home. The town has beautiful lakefront (across the street) and easy access to restaurants. We did a 2 mile walk around town every day, Wednesday and Saturday ending up at a fabulous downtown farmers market. Julie is a phone call away if needed and her brother was on sight every day. We played golf at several public courses nearby that provided challenge as well as beauty. There are miles and miles of bike pathways, and a beautiful state park a short drive up Main Street that had beaches and hiking trails. We would definitely return.
Thanks so much for the wonderful review. I'm so glad you enjoyed both the condo and the city of Harbor Springs. It definitely is the gem of Michigan!

Again, thanks so much for the rental and your wonderful review.
Harbor Springs is truly the gem of Michigan. Off the beaten path, it offers wonderful amenities throughout the year. There are many one-of-a-kind shops, great restaurants, wonderful biking, all sorts of water activities, and a great new theatre. It's the kind of town where people actually pick up litter and say "Hi" to one another when they pass them on the sidewalk, whether they know them or not - that's rare!! In my heart and mind it has always been by far the most beautiful city in Michigan and that's why I made my way there some 30 years ago.
Conveniently located just 6 miles from Petoskey, and about 23 miles from the famous Cross Village and the world renowned "Legs Inn", it offers a central location for great sightseeing in northern MI. A great day trip to Mackinac Island or even Traverse City is also very manageable. All in all, it offers a great retreat and respite from the daily hassles of a large city and a work environment. Come and let all of this soak in. Return home relaxed and revived!
