Close Enough To Asheville Activities, Distant Enough For Quiet Renewal

About Sandra C Smith
I am a native North Carolinian and moved to Asheville in 1979. I've been inviting friends to the area since. I love great food as well as art, so Asheville is a perfect town for me. The nearby hiking trails call to me often and I love the beauty of the natural world. I enjoy sharing my favorite restaurants, hiking trails and art galleries with others.

Why Sandra C Smith chose Arden
This 6 Maple Terrace is located in one of south Asheville's oldest neighborhoods, Royal Pines. The property, at the end of a short private road, is quiet and just under an acre. It appealed to me the minute I saw the setting. My friends call my home a tree house as do those who rent the apartment. A variety of deciduous trees offers textures of green in summer and great color in autumn. The apartment's private porch is simply serene, surrounded by trees and birdsong.
What makes this Apartment unique
Guests absolutely love the crafted walkway leading to this apartment. The mountain laurel and rhododendrun add a special touch to this property. The porch is spacious and cozy, perfect for morning coffee or tea and evening wine.

Perfect and Peaceful
The Wren's Nest was all we expected and more. Sandra is a very thoughtful and conscientious hostess. She was in Europe during our visit but stayed in touch to ensure that we were comfortable and everything was satisfactory. She's paid great attention to detail and provided above and beyond. The location is a little remote, but that's what makes it unique and enjoyable. It's situated in a quiet, heavily forested neighborhood on a gravel road. We relied on our GPS to navigate. You must drive 15 minutes +/- to Asheville, the Biltmore Estate and restaurants. We probably will not be returning to the area but recommend the Wren's Nest if it meets your criteria.
Just what the Doc ordered!
Sandra, you thought of everything, even the fan for white noise. Loved our stay and your Wren's Nest in the trees. I hope you enjoyed Lake Como and will share pictures the next time we come up. I can make it to the end of season now as I am recharged. Heidi and Tom
Yes, Heidi, we'll share stories and photos and wine during your next visit. Glad you were renewed at Wren's Nest!
Thank you for being great guests!
What a cute little place!
Sandra was a wonderful hostess. The Wren's Nest is a secluded basement apartment nestled in the woods, plenty large enough for two with great character. It is artfully appointed with a mixture of modern and antique furnishings. My only suggestion would be, to have some type of HVAC control exclusively for the apartment. I highly recommend The Wren's Nest!

Wanted to stay longer.
Wren’s Nest is wonderful place to stay. Sandra has thought of everything. She has paid a lot of attention to detail. It’s quiet and comfortable with a view of the mountains. Sandra is such a thoughtful host. Her main concerns are that all your needs are met. She had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do and see in Asheville. We highly recommend staying at Wren’s Nest. We can’t wait to return.
Hope you two are experiencing safe travels today. I loved meeting you both and hope you'll return soon! Thanks for leaving the apartment so clean!
Beautiful and comfortable Wren’s Nest
We loved staying here. Every detail was thought of. It was a great base from which to visit Asheville.
Homey No-Fuss Getaway
Sandra's place was perfect for our weekend retreat! It was immaculate and comfortable with any amenity we could have hoped for. The perfect place to wind down after a day out and about in Asheville, we felt right at home! Sandra is a fantastic host and resource. We ate at many of the places she recommended during our trip and we were not disappointed! One of the best parts of our trip!
It was a treat to host you Bree! Thank you and do come again!
