Experience this Beautiful Home nestled within 3 lush acres of Tropical Rainforest! You've found your base-camp for adventure! Whether you are anxious to hike to the lava, take day-trips to waterfalls and sites in Hilo or Pahoa, or simply relax, this is it! Begin your day with coffee in the Hot Tub, listening to the birds in the forest. Spend time hiking the National Park and other local trails. Don't miss the gentle hike through Thurston Lava Tube. (Check with VNP to make sure it is open.) Make s'mores in the outdoor pavilion after a family BBQ. Gaze at the unreal stars on clear nights, or just get cozy with a fire in the wood-burning stove inside.
The kitchen has beautiful granite counter-tops and high-end appliances & is complete with everything you will need to make a tasty meal. The dining table seats six.
We've made this a special place by laying random quartzite stone floors, Ohia logs, Mosaic Seahorse Murals in both baths, leather couches, Tiffany-style lamps & a hand-carved entry door. We have a closet filled with games (not for kids under 3) and puzzles as well as movies, books & umbrellas. The Master Bedroom has a California King size sleigh bed with a memory mattress and down comforter. Each of the additional bedrooms have Queen beds.
Getting to Volcanoes National Park takes less than 10 minutes by car. We have loved to hop in the car after dinner and go to the Jagger Museum to watch the glow from the rising lava lake in Halemau'mau Crater. A few good restaurants are available in Volcano Village. If you are lucky enough to stay on a Sunday, don't miss the morning Farmer's Market at the Cooper Center on Wright Rd. Whatever your idea of a getaway is, you will be sure to find it here!
